I assume spraying the fresh cut Yaupon is best but what if it takes you a few days to get to the stumps you cut? Thank you.

I have successfully grown pecans from nuts, but I noticed pecan saplings are super sensitive to Texas sun. What schedule of sun time should we use to get them adjusted and adapted to the sun so their leaves don’t turn brown?

To stratify pecans do just place in a ziplock bag and leave in fridge for about 1-3 months? Or do we soak then place in fridge 1-3 months?

Somebody needs to research a way to naturally disrupt their fungus garden without them detecting it. Supposedly they are very sensitive tp just the right fungus growing, so I'm sure it would be tricky. They are decimating my vegetable garden...perimeter control is useless, because they have made access hole IN the garden.

Hi! I just identified some leaves from plants that appeared out of nowhere in my front yard - four of them and they are growing very quickly - identified on a plant identifier app as pecan trees. Is this possible? I am in Northern California. The leaf, with its pointed tip and serrated edges, looks exactly like the leaf of the pecan tree in photos. I have no idea why these trees would be going growing here except that I did feed pecans to wild turkeys for a while a few years back. Any ideas? Thanks

Not sure. My guess it is a species of tree in the same Family as pecans.

Your video is so helpful. Thank you. Now I just need to figure out which tractor to buy for our 24 acre property we just bought in Kerrville. I have some tractor experience on our family farm going over to help each year for lambing season (on the Isle of Man) so very different conditions.

This was a very informative video, thank you. Would cattle(or sheep, Geese etc) eat the fallen pecan leaves? Because if you need to maintain 50% light in your orchard, then you probably got decent grass, so you could let lifestock graze through the area after harvest and up to a few weeks beforehand, eating up spores and fertilising the area whilst producing other products.

Can you tell me if yaupon can be propagated via cuttings? I really want some on my property. I know it is usually undesirable. But I just want a small area divided by pond.

I do not know if you can or not. My best advice would be to dig up small trees that will have a small root system. They also have "ornamental" varieties you can buy at garden stores.

It would be very worthwhile to move hay long distances by railroad. It's very cheap to move freight by rail. There are ranches in places like West Texas and Wyoming that often need hay brought to them. With the growing drought in the Western United States there are probably many other ranches and farms there that need hay brought to them.

Rail is only useful if suppliers and customers are right on the rail otherwise it ultimately needs to then be placed on a truck. Typically hay in not shipped long distances because then the cost of transportation is more than the product itself so customers look for sources close to them as a priority. Rail is good for longer distances for commodities that also can be loaded and unloaded quickly.

Unfortunately we do not in Polk County. However that may be something we look at doing in the future if the funds become available. Because the majority of people plant their food plots in Polk County by broadcasting we decided to broadcast seed instead of drill for this demonstration.

I recently had some of our trails widened with a drum mulcher which was mostly 7-8 ft tall yaupon. Now it's starting to come back as expected, about 12" tall. I bought a gal of the Remedy Ultra. I have a 15 gal tank on the 4 wheeler and want to apply the remedy directly to the plant leaves. What's the best mix for my tank, how many ounces of the remedy, and also how many ounces of a surfactant mixed with water for a 15 gal tank.
