The world needs more men like you, Jeff Hobbs. I saw the movie and I wanted to know who you were so I looked you up and found this interview. I was hoping in my heart you were the author. The interview brought me to tears and gave me hope. I have been broken this week on the heels of the election and decided to watch the movie, which made me more sad. However your interview gave me some peace knowing that sometimes one person can make a difference. I believe your friendship with Robb Peace was God’s divine connection. Hold that close to your heart because you are making a difference. I will purchase your book and I will recommend it to everyone in my circle. May God bless you and your family immensely.❤❤

Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton once sent a letter promising to investigate their baby's death, but "that's been five years ago. I haven't heard nothing since," Mr. Shelton said. Living on Poisoned Earth // Arkansas town faces the legacy of Agent Orange By DAVID OLINGER Published July 8, 1990|Updated July 6, 2006 Downhill from an abandoned Agent Orange plant, past a grade school and a park, is a graveyard that some people in this community call Babyland. Dozens of infants have been buried here because a local funeral home offered free services to their parents. Their graves lie close together, marked by small tombstones denoting the brevity of their lives. A ceramic teddy bear sits beside one grave; by another, a toy car. On another is a verse from Isaiah: "He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart." A small wooden cross and a fresh blue bow mark the grave of Joseph Shelton, 1985-1985. His parents put him to bed beside them one night, and when they awoke he was dead. The cause was listed as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, but a private laboratory test later found his body tissues contained chemicals used in making Agent Orange. Five years later, his death remains a mystery that the U.S. government has chosen not to investigate. The state of Arkansas asked the federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to help determine how pesticide byproducts could have entered the body of a 3-month-old baby. The agency chose instead to dispute the lab test results and refused to examine his body tissues. It also rejected a state request to test whether the same chemicals could be found in the bodies of other infants who died in Jacksonville and other Arkansas towns. In Jacksonville, a city of 30,000 northeast of Little Rock, there are now three hazardous waste sites on the federal Superfund list. The last company to make herbicides here went out of business, leaving behind about 30,000 barrels of wastes and a contaminated plant site. Dioxins have been found in a creek and stream below the site, in wildlife inhabiting the stream and in a pond where people once fished and swam. Commercial fishing has been banned for 80 miles downstream from Jacksonville. The federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ranks the closed plant site as one of the most hazardous dumps in the country. Yet no federal or state public health agency is investigating whether the herbicides used to defoliate the jungles of Vietnam affected people in an American city that produced the chemicals. The state plans to start cleaning up the Jacksonville plant soon by burning barrels of dioxin-contaminated wastes on site for seven months. This plan has been endorsed by local doctors who claim dioxin is not a serious health hazard. Many other Jacksonville residents fear the incinerator will further endanger their health. Joseph Shelton's parents, Jeff and Brenda, now live in a small, rundown apartment with their other two children, about a mile from the neighborhood where their baby died. They suspect to this day that he died of pesticide poisoning. But they have little evidence, and even if they did, the perpetrator would be faceless, his means of entry into their home unknown. Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton once sent a letter promising to investigate their baby's death, but "that's been five years ago. I haven't heard nothing since," Mr. Shelton said. and even if they did, the perpetrator would be faceless, his means of entry into their home unknown. Arkansas Gov.
