I believe the neon God is the Golden Calf they created when Moses went up the mountain.

Simon and Garfunkel wrote this when they first started out as Gospel/Folk singers. This was originally a Gospel song. And believe me, it is one hundred thousand percent BIBLICAL. Simon said this song came to him in a dream. A vision, so to speak. And even though the Gospel album it was released on in 1964 tanked, this song hit the top of the pop/rock charts in 1966 and catapulted them from the Gospel Folk genre into the Pop Rock genre. And more of their songs along with this one were immortalized in The Graduate in 1967. Most have forgotten or never knew the Gospel/Biblical roots of this song. But unless you know the Bible, you won't truly and fully understand this song. Thousands of people worshipping false "neon" gods. Alone in a sea of people. All going their own way aimlessly, neither listening nor communicating with each other. Love grows cold. Life becomes coarse. When the sheep lose the Shepard, the flock disintegrates, losing the coherence of shared values, no longer belonging to a common family; unable to communicate effectively anymore. The words of the prophets really are written on the subway walls and tenement halls in New York City, especially back in the 60s, 70s and even 80s. They are the first thing you'd see when getting off the subway in Penn Station. EXACTLY that, this is SO NYC! And on the tenement halls, alleyways, under bridges .... the memories their brilliant urban imagery of NYC brings back. *"Hear my words that I might teach you, take my arms that I might reach you. But my words, like silent raindrops fell...into the wells of silence"* *WHO IS SAYING THIS?* *"Jerusalem, O Jerusalem...How often I have longed to gather you in my arms as a mother hen gathers her chicks, but you would not."* And *Jesus* wept. And *the people bowed and prayed to the neon god they made!* And they worshipped the golden calf. False idols and gods of our own making. *The sign flashed out its warning, in “the words that IT WAS FORMING”* … *the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls, and tenement halls* … And just what were the words that were supernaturally forming on the wall in the book of Daniel? They told the king that he had been JUDGED and found wanting. His kingdom is taken from him. By the next morning, the king is dead and Babylon has fallen. Just like that. How often is New York City likened to a modern-day Babylon? *JUDGEMENT IS HERE, PEOPLE!* A large part of Simon & Garfunkel's lyrical genius was in stating timeless, Biblical truths in modern language, in a modern setting. Instead of Jerusalem. it's New York City. Modern day Babylon. Yet the message and the warning is just as timeless and relevant today as it was in ancient Jerusalem. And we should remember why Jesus wept. Jesus knew what the consequences of rejecting God would be for Jerusalem, and they were utterly devastating. They still are. God help us.

Seek him with your whole heart, and an open heart, Matthew 7:7-8: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened". (THE WORD IS ALIVE) seek in the bible i would suggest proverbs 🙏 hes already drawing you near, it takes surrender and that can be hard, but you raise that up to jesus and watch how he moves🕊🔥✝️
