You're not wrong. The 41 42 45 all sound very different than the D28 or D35. It's not just more bling. It's better grades of wood. And Martin's best efforts. Your playing is a treat. That sounds like one of the better D41's I have heard.
@dustinrosemusicАй бұрын
@@theapplepaul thank you so much! Do you have a 40s series dreadnought?
@theapplepaulАй бұрын
@@dustinrosemusic Sadly, no. In the '70's I owned a D18 purchased used from a bluegrass musician for $ 300. Amazing tone, not the best neck. But I have played a D45 , D35, D28 in a store. As well as a Collings. Also owned a Guild D40 purchased in the '80's. Now my guitars include a Taylor ce- 224 koa- satin finish- which has gorgeous tone and a better neck than the Guild or Martin I owned- and a Johnson dread pawnshop special which actually has great sustain and bass, but buzzes on upper frets. . What do you want for $26?. So even with the Taylor grand auditorium, I could still use a great dreadnought. Here's the challenge: you can get great zero-interest financing from Musicians Friend or their online competition- but then you are buying a pig in the poke. I like to actually play the acoustic guitar I am buying. I did get to play the Taylor before buying it. Sounded much better than another of the same model they had in. Meanwhile, I had the electric holy grail combo back in the '70's- a '67 Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop and a Fender Twin Reverb. Total cost to me. used? $ 610 for both .Traded for my second car ever- a '67 MGB. The D18? Sold to pay for rings and valves on the MGB. I was blessed to at least have had the best at one time. And I played keys in bands- guitar has always been a second instrument. But have been working to bring my skills up, and that is even more exciting. Hearing great guitars? Valuable. Hearing great guitarists? Priceless.

First of all, the guitar playing itself was fantastic. It was great to hear a couple different styles of guitar playing on the instrument which handled it beautifully. Next, the sound this guitar put out was really cool and sounded great. I don't use any picks when I play, and I know, I wouldn't have any trouble getting some great sounds from the guitar.

My next guitar will be a breedlove Concerto. I want the murtlewood back and sides, spruce top, and a cutaway and electronics. I played one a while ago at my local music shop and it sounded great. The sound of the guitar in this video was very nice and enjoyable to listen to.

Hi. Congratulations on the video. One day I intend to buy a d41. It is wonderful. Your description of the sound of rosewood is interesting. I would describe it using a synesthesia. The sound comes to mind as if waves were breaking in the sea, forming foam. This foam is the reverberation of rosewood. I love. I have a Washburn D51 SW Apache, Native Series. Washburn ordered 20 units from Dana Bourgeois, in celebration of the brand's 115th anniversary. Bird's eye maple sides and back. It has an incredible sound. It's softer than rosewood, like velvet. The sound is balanced, with full bass, measured mids and sweet highs. I'll give you a link to a video that I'm playing with him. Tell me what you think of him. Congratulations on your guitar. You have good taste. Thanks kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6aadWN-mqudfNksi=L6hcperILpzE6JOZ

I had not given your evaluation between the D-4X series and the other D series guitars, but this has been my experience as well. When I have played D-28s, they lend themselves to heavy strumming/single-line flatpicking. Of course, you can play more delicately on D-28s (I haven't played many D-18s), but the D-4X series do lend themselves to more delicate playing (more responsive without the need to pound notes out of them).

I've got a 2016 all Koa. Still got the sales receipt. $999. Top, back AND sides are Koa. It's one of the earlier ones with the Koa veneered headstock. The later ones used a cheaper black headstock. It's 6-string , rosewood neck. This guitar is AS NEW. Not one scratch anywhere on it, likely because I can't really play guitar, can only dink around with it. My thing is keyboards. Years ago I used to play in various bands with the shop owner. Also have the Breedlove black hardshell case with gold hardware and gorgeous bright red stitching. I use a humidifier that's a special kind of sponge-like material that holds water for a long time and drops into a plastic case that extends down into the sound hole. Almost forgot- it's got the Fishman pre-amp electronics built in as well. Oh, and the tuning hardware is all gold.

So you are in a band?...or have a studio? MAKE ME AN OFFER! I've got some gorgeous pics I could email to you. I think that after all these years of being tenderly cared for it really DOES DESERVE to be played by a real guitar player. Where are you located? There is the "Ship Shop" here in town that could safely package and send it in its case to you, if necessary. I have no idea what that would cost. I live in north-eastern OR at 97801. I don't have a prob with you checking it out in person if you wanted to. I found a YT vid of my exact guitar. It's EXACTLY like the one in this vid.
