This is probably my favorite day because of everything, from the weird orb clouds that appear in C4-C6, to the weird monster that shows up at the end. My favorite track on this is probably C3 or D1

Out of all of the scenes from the Flip Side, learning about the urban legend of the Hat Man was an interesting myth I didn't think I'd leave with. Apparently he/it (let's just call him "they" for simplicity's sake) is a real world psychological phenomenon: a featureless silhouette of a man who many describe as wearing a hat and trench coat that many people suffering from visual hallucinations (usually drug abusers or victims of sleep paralysis) claim to have seen. While described as eerily unsettling to the point of inducing an anxiety attack, they're never described as directly malevont, almost everyone describing them as just an observer. Granted, I'd be absolutely fucking terrified of meeting them, especially if I'm psychologically tripping and already stressed over my surroundings, but witnesses/psychologists describe them as a neutral force, merely observing rather than actually intentionally being menacing. The unknown of the Hat Man is what makes them horrifying. When I first heard about it, I thought the Hat Man sounded strangely wholesome (in a fucked up, eerie sort of way), a neutral force merely observing humanity (neither condoning nor condemning their actions) with our most vulnerable being the only ones who get to witness them.
@DulyDownward11 күн бұрын
my freaky ass could NOT meet the hat man
@JackAttack1511 күн бұрын
@@DulyDownward Same! Even while sober and coherent, I would find a hallucination like the Hat Man absolutely terrifying. However, there are far worse hallucinations to witness. Most people hallucinate sleep paralysis demons. Granted, none of these things could actually physically harm you but they're still absolutely traumatizing. Most people who hallucinated the Hat Man describe them as unsettling at worst but apparently, they almost never do anything beyond standing in a corner.
@CallMeFreakFujiko23 күн бұрын
So apparently this is just a thing that people will hallucinate while high on Benadryl. I've been getting a lot of serious "Hat Man" videos recommended to me. I'm a little bit surprised that this wasn't just a thing that the developer came up with, but a very common thing people who abuses Benadryl see for some reason. I tried watching some of them out of morbid curiosity, but all I could think about was the Siamese McNugget rant. I don't abuse drugs so I sometimes find it fascinating hearing about people's trips, but I just can't take The Hat Man seriously thanks to this.
@JackAttack1522 күн бұрын
They're apparently only ever seen by people suffering from visual hallucinations, not just Benadryl/drug abuse but also sleep paralysis, night terrors, psychosis, etc. An extremely unsettling hallucination but it's apparently one of the most harmless hallucinations someone would the misfortune of meeting.
