Finally had a chance to watch your latest video. Congrats on your large finish. It's quite a lovely piece. I also have to comment on your favourite hoop because it's my favourite hoop too. I do use q-snaps at times but usually I do prefer my hoop. With my neck & shoulder issues I find the hoop more manageable for longer periods of stitching. ❤

@@PamsCraftyCorner Thanks Pam!! I agree about long stitchy sessions. My issue is my hands, as I said in the video, and it’s soooo much more comfortable to hold a lightweight hoop for that amount of time!!

I absolutely love your roses piece and your beautiful finish! I have don’t use hoops because my fingers are shot and can’t tighten the screw down enough. Liked the spring tension though but was always told they will break the fibers in the fabric and leave permanent marks. So then I went to Qsnaps, had to get to used to holding them but I can Frankenstein parts together to get a custom size. I’ll have a look at the flex hoop and try one, thank you.

Hello, Your posts are amazing. I have a question. My Silks4U - color 181 came today. How many inches did you cut your full hank in to?
@stitchbrat2 ай бұрын
@@noreencurry5901 Thank you! I didn’t cut the hank into sections like many people do. I just wound the whole thing onto bobbins, then I just cut a length from the bobbin as I work. I cut each length so that the steel gray color is at both ends.
@noreencurry59012 ай бұрын
@@stitchbrat Thank you so much for that tip. I have never worked with a full hank before and for that matter never with silk before. I was an avid quilter. I still work at quilting just a bit slower after I had a stroke in 2022. I cross stitch with a hoop. I am 80 and always up for learning and trying new things. Your variety of projects just blows my mind. Have a good summer where ever you are. I am in Minnesota, the land of mosquitoes.

@@noreencurry5901 I’m in Michigan, Noreen! I had never had a hank of floss before this, either. It was honestly a little intimidating! But there are a bunch of videos on KZbin of people showing how they handle them, so there are various tips out there!

That Dutch Beauty is such a huge undertaking. I have it here, but haven’t started it because it seems like a real marathon. I Iike when you said you just try not to think about it. 😂 That is probably how I should face it as well. I agree about jobelan. It’s not my favorite, but every once in a while I can’t get away from it because it’s the only way to get a certain color for a project. I am especially impressed with how you have managed to keep up pretty well on the Star-crossed Meadow. I am very tempted to give it a go. I ordered the pr-181 as well. Your work convinced me it was too gorgeous to pass up. I’m so excited to see your Ann Grimshaw because I am planning a start on it later this year. I have my dmc 310 cone of doom all ready for it. The Reflets de Soie samplers are always so breathtaking, and I just love that little bird in the alphabet. Honestly, your wip pile is just full of riches - I don’t know how you choose what to do each day with them all being so enticing.
