its either pixel or color.. from what i can see the dark area around tree on 8k seems more bright. probably the processing more appear between that two instead just pixel.

Zoom more ... And what about 72 mpx photo? Seem a little misajustment lens if it's a little blur. On other tests we see the more details in 8k.

I tried to zoom in a lot, if I do that, I can see the difference, but it's not much. When 5.7K crop is too soft, 8K doesn't look much better at the same zoom. I guess better chip still can't match better sensor. Edit: how do know there is a misadjustment? I probably should contact Insta360 support if there is a problem. And, most of the reviews online, they compare 8K on X4 to 5.7K on X3 and find it much improved. But 5.7K on X4 is also much improved compare to 5.7K on X3. I think Roo's Review mentioned that in one of his stitching analysis video.

Certainly in these shots there is not much difference visible. But the X4 uses a lot of processing and AI stuff on the original image from the sensor and it would be doing a lot of work to make the 5.7k look as good as possible. Have you tried comparing 8K and 5.7K with the various sharpness settings? Someone showed some comparisons of low, medium and high sharpness in 8K settings and the medium and high settings seemed to make a big difference.
@TurboZHK
@TurboZHK 4 ай бұрын
I just did that an hour ago, medium sharpness is pretty good and balanced, but I would prefer to use Low and sharpen the images later, medium can still be too aggressive sometime. However, at medium sharpness 8K and 5.7K clips still look pretty close in image quality. Insta360 claims 78% more pixels in 8k compare to 5.7k, the end result is not 78% sharper, nowhere close.

@@TurboZHK Is the 5,7k footage actually 8k from the sensor reduced in processing, or does it only use 5.7k of the pixels from the sensor at the outset? Have you tried the 5.7+ setting also? And does it make a difference if the camera is moving instead of static?
@TurboZHK
@TurboZHK 4 ай бұрын
@@Ozpeter I don't know how the camera works. I never tried the new 5.7k+ since it's purpose is to reduce file size and make editing less demanding. Since both factors don't bother me at all. I just ignored 5.7K+. I did a moving capture comparison prior to this. I couldn't tell the difference in that one too. I thought since I only have one camera, moving trigers too many variables. So I decided to do a still capture.

@@TurboZHK The kind of footage where I can see the biggest advantage in the 8k is 360 clips seen in a VR headset. But I think your experience shows that X4 users should do their own tests on the kind of uses relevant to them and decide on best settings accordingly.

Hi.. Great video and I want to do the same. Do you have a rough idea what the weight of the ankle/wrist weights are? Are they 6kg? 2 x 3kg?
@TurboZHK
@TurboZHK 7 ай бұрын
It depends on if you have drilled new holes on the base plate if the base plate is closer to you, you need less weight. Anyway, 2.5 kg x 2 should be enough to stabilize it.

FYI, I upgraded to the trophy, playseat challenge can handle Elite v2 pedals but with limitations, even the trophy has its problems. I guess aluminum profile rig is still the end game for sim racers. Challenge was perfectly fine for me until I no longer satisfied with brake force setting at only 15…
