On the indie side of things, I think there are many indie developers that dramatically under-estimate how much work is required to develop a complete and quality game, while at the same time over-estimating how much revenue a game will generate. I research games pretty much every day and it's no exaggeration to say that hundreds of new indie games are released each and every week. My guess is that less than 1 in 1000 has a chance of being commercially viable or worth the effort poured into creating it. It becomes increasingly difficult to pour a ton of hard work and time into something and generate little to no revenue along the way. I should know, I'm a KZbinr! 😸 It's not a surprise to me when games get abandoned. However, I don't like it when some developers continue to make promises of large updates when they must know that they aren't likely to deliver them.

Actually, I don't know the exact form yet, but I believe there is a way (or multiple ways) to move products vertically.

You might be right about the overthinking, but here's the thing: I know there's a path in the game that I'm **supposed** to go down and that 95% of all players will go down, especially in their first playthrough, but I'd really like to avoid that path. That path just seems kind of dull to me. So, I'm brainstorming to try and find a somewhat more unique path, just for the variety of it. I'm not talking a "let's game it out" or "look what I can do!" -style playthrough, just something unique and a bit different. 🤔

I thought you were talking about the ore nodes on top of the deposit. You're right, I did miss the ore count of the entire deposit vs one block of it. 👍

They had some hiccups at launch and are looking into it.

With the power pole comment in the game, I immediately thought of you! 😺 If the game currently had a way of building them, I would have put a bunch of them down! Sorry to hear about the nausea. I get that with very few games and this one wasn't a problem for me. I did immediately turn off the screen-shake setting since I found it unpleasant while hand mining. This one feels really early, but I like the concept and execution quite a bit so far.

Just tried the demo and I find it unplayable due to the mouse sensitivity and FOV, etc :-( Doesn't happen very often for me in games, but Star Citizen (even with the FOV patch they put out) is still uncomfortable, for example.

@@borisbosnjak4812 I have no idea if this would help or not, but when I first went into the game it was pinning my GPU to 100%. I had to go into NVidia settings to cap the framerate at 60 fps and I also turned on VSync. The game performed way better after those changes. The reason I bring this up is I wonder if the nausea **could** be triggered or made worse by certain frame rates that don't work well with your particular monitor. But then again, if the video made you nauseous, then this wouldn't likely be a solution. Just a thought.

I know what you're saying. 😺 When I label a video "Early Preview" it indicates that I believe we're only seeing a glimpse of what the final game will/could be like at this point. I think games like this have a much better chance of survival if interested gamers learn about them early on, which is why I make this kind of video. The early adopters among us will often join the game's discord and provide the developer with feedback and encouragement that can end up making a huge difference in bringing the game to reality.

Great recommendation! I actually played the Surviving Ceres Demo just before AGRONOM. I died pretty much instantly after running out of food and oxygen while trying to figure out how to get a base built. 😺 That one has been on my wishlist for quite a while. The dev told me yesterday that they just tweaked the demo to make the hunger, thirst, and oxygen bars a bit less challenging so I need to circle back and give it another try.

It's been quite a long time since I played, so I can't remember. I don't remember doing anything special, but things may have changed in the game since then.

Actually, I'm still playing. 😺 When video watch time and likes are well below average, the videos in my let's plays start to be available to channel members and patrons only. KZbin analytics tell me videos with low watch time and low engagement aren't really good for the health of the channel, so I keep those videos private. There are currently 6 episodes of Planetary Factory and I'm planning to record one final episode. Idle games are whole different type of game. I didn't like them at first, but I've since come across a few that I really enjoy. Planetary Factory has quite a bit of depth and variety to it as you get deeper into the game. I've been having a lot of fun with it.

You've played a bunch of my favorites! 😻 You need to go play Captain of Industry if you haven't already! < chef's kiss > I also have close to 40 different factory games on my channel with more coming. You might want to browse my "Playlists" page for one's you may have missed. I'm just diving into this current Early Access version of Foundry, so I can only speak to first impressions at this point. I'd say it's not as complex as FortressCraft Evolved or Satisfactory, but it's probably easier to get into for players new to the genre. In fact, it's probably a game I'd highly recommend to new factory gamers. It has much more depth IMO than something like Builderment or Shapez, which are also awesome games for factory newbies. It also provides a new art style, a new set of challenges for automation ***enthusiasts*** like myself. I've often said that my first 20 - 100 hours in a new factory game are pretty much ***always*** going to be more enjoyable than my 500th - 600th hours in say Factorio or Satisfactory. I like having a variety of settings and challenges. As far as the uniqueness and features.. I highly recommend checking out the official Foundry KZbin channel. He's another KZbinr with the casual playstyle that I prefer and he also has a keen eye for games many people might have missed. I hope you're enjoying your time away from KZbin. I often think about how my gaming habits would change if I were to stop making content. I'm curious to know if you've been able to settle into a single game or two or if you find yourself still drifting across several games each week.

@@Glidercat I have watched Tattman for years now. He really digs survival style games. I have settled in to Starfield and New World. Two games I really enjoy but never got any time into before. Probably a good thing I quit when I did , the dumpster fire my country is currently in would have made even me start to rant politics on my channel. I have to admit I'm jealous! 😺 I'm playing a lot of Farm Sim off camera (oldman102's Angel Mountain 16x map). I just find it super relaxing and with all of oldman102 production line mods and ore mines, I always have plenty to do in game. I'm also playing Captain of Industry off camera but it's hard to carve out off-camera time with all the time I spend researching upcoming games and creating content. As for politics and such, you might have noticed that I keep my channel 100% focused on the games and the enjoyment thereof. My entire KZbin endeavor along with the games I play are meant to be a respite from all of the world's countless stresses and frustrations. Connecting people with games they'll enjoy is my modest way of spreading a little happiness.
