If you drop a wind turbine or solar panel along routes to your automation areas you can link all your power into one grid. Also, if you stand at the edge of your habitat door you can run the drone while still considered inside.
@zdine21557 күн бұрын
Glidercat it would be good to prioritize making the material anaylzer so you unlock more tech like the cooling module so you don't have worry about the heat in the hot areas(need 2 cooling modules for the super hot areas). Would consider making some ship batteries to fly to the gold deposits to save time (you will need to setup power near gold deposits). Power sources(windmills, solar, etc.) have a range which has decent size but windmills can connect power grids so you will later on want to build windmills all over to connect your different production areas

Glidercat you are just getting into the game but don't be to caught up in trying to make things look nice especially with conveyors as the devs implemented dumb mechanic where the conveyor starts to curve, meaning conveyor will start to do funky bending paths that you cannot control

so much to do... will it ever get fully automated?
@Glidercat8 күн бұрын
There are always a lot of grindy tasks to do. Many, but not all, can be significantly sped up via new higher-tiered machines. Checking out customers can be *completely* automated (via the self-checkouts), as can mining, watering plants, cleaning solar panels, etc. Along with the everyday grind of producing products to sell, there are several big projects that once you get through them, they're done (i.e. no more grind with them). Examples of this would be: paving the parking lot, setting up parking meters (ticket machines), building parking space canopies, setting up farm plots for each type of produce, setting up automatic irrigation of your farm plots, etc. Completing those big projects gives you a strong sense of accomplishment and progression (aka dopamine hit). Giving you the feeling that you're building up a superstore from nothing has been done very well by the developers, IMO. Center Station Simulator can be quite addictive, but you have to be very comfortable with copious amounts of grind along the way.

wow you are ready for a real grind the mine area can also be built in including the entrance now so you could do some forges in the entrance saving you the walk back to the basement there is a lot that can be built in the mine as you progress so see what you can build and maybe that will save space in the basement in the early game also there are infinite nodes around the edge of the mine making it not a requirement early game to actually increat the big mining machine that just uses a lot of power so leave it as it is until you really need the other ores clearing out the mine is more benificial than that big miner. I have been playing this game since release on steam and the QOL improvement that have happened on this game are amazing and the solo dev has really impressed me with the content he has released in such a short time. Thanks for showing us the game

I haven't played this game or have seen much of play throughs of this. Wouldn't it be pertinent to concentrate on technology, keep the mass industry to a minimum necessity for defenses and maximize technology, then keep the trees to keep pollution down as much as possible? I think game stage for this is based on pollution levels.
@Glidercat13 күн бұрын
Things may have changed since I last played several years ago, but as I remember, trying to control pollution and preserving trees is simply futile. Even if you're running 100% solar power, the machines/buildings themselves still produce pollution and the trees take up only a miniscule percentage of that. Again, things may have changed, but those are the assumptions I'm working from.

For the terraforming/ground fertilizing -- the level 1 fertilizer will only do to 50%, you need the level 2 unit to take it to 100%. Once it completes, you can remove it, the ground fertilization does not degrade. The level 2 fertilizer will also allow trees to grow. Once trees are there you use less oxygen as the trees are producing oxygen. You don't need both a level 1 and a level 2. Once you can build level 2s you can get rid of the level 1s as they are redundant.
@Glidercat6 күн бұрын

It is, but sometimes the alignments are still pretty strange. That you can place blocks only exactly on the grid and buildings can be slightly turned off the grid is sometimes a problem too.

You went WAY too overboard on ammo for your turrets. You need a stack at MOST in a turret wall like that, and with the buffer that naturally exists on a belt, the half a dozen or so that end up from just directly inserting into a turret from the belt would be enough. Even for the highest level of Biters on the default generation (if not even more dense generation) that wall will be close to overkill once you put the better ammo into it. I feel in general you are being overly paranoid about biters. When I play, I normally dont even wall anything until I get attacked, and use that attack to judge what I need to defend & how much.
@Glidercat17 күн бұрын
Stay tuned. The defense walls are about to get much, much stronger. 😸 I'm not sure there's such a thing as "WAY too overboard" when you're having fun.
