Hello, is the tank under the cabin always open or does it have some kind of valve that closes when sandblasting?

Our plunger has come off the rod several times, way more than I feel it should leaving the blaster inoperative. Along with the mushroom plunger wearing out only after a few hours of use. The blast cabinet has been more trouble than it’s worth, wish we could find some solutions.

@batterpm11 it might just be worth changing the complete block.www.sandblasters.co.uk/release-block-for-pressure-cabinet-908-p.asp

@ @ Wow, quick response. Thank you. I think we’ll change out the block and do a complete, full service with new media. About how long should I expect to be able to blast without letting off the pedal and letting the media drop back down into the pressure pot? Sometimes I have to give the pot a slight kick for the media to drop down, is that normal?

Hello I just bought one of these cabinets second hand. I need to get a compressor that will run this machine for personal use. I plan on using it for wheels and misc car projects. I see that the machine on websites say it calls for 24cfm at 125 psi. Is the cfm more important or is the psi more important. This is all new for me and I know nothing.

My suction cabinet build by me is faster than your direct pressure and I don't damage aluminum wheels. I have yet to see a correctly built blasting cabinet in my 40 years of doing it. I run 18cfm at 1/2 inch hose to the gun. No pedal, no dust, no expensive of anything.

Hi, We have a few extractors, the rouble you have is the slope of the cabinet makes it difficult to mount it on the cabinet. The DC17 is the best one for that cabinet but its more expensive. www.sandblasters.co.uk/dust-extractor--dc17-stand-alone-dust-extractor-for-large-sand-blast-cabinets-1167-p.asp You could buy one of the cheaper models and maybe mount it on a wall by the cabinet We have the DC15 below www.sandblasters.co.uk/dust-extractor-suits-bench-top-sand-blast-cabinet-in-red-dc15-1276-p.asp Or this one www.sandblasters.co.uk/dust-extractor-suits-bench-top-sand-blast-cabinet-in-cream-dc15-1754-p.asp

Hi. This looks like a great setup, especially as it rules out the need for a hoover with that dust extractor. I know it's on the low output side, but I have been offered a 3hp compressor for free (until I can buy a more powerful one) - would this be good enough to get started with sandblasting smaller items such as brake assemblies, car brackets etc? Thanks

Thanks for the video. Is this upgrade on the site yet, just ordered some bits and hadn't seen it. I was wondering if the O Ring for the seal on the feed plunger is available on its own? I bought a mushroom head on its own last year but didn't to fit it until last week. I've just ordered a new one to keep for when the other wears out and there is a kit with the plunger, mushroom seal and the O Ring. I haven't replaced the O Ring this time but I'd like to. Also, my cabinet is from a company in Derby who sound like they should be selling sofas rather than tools! They aren't much help with spares but the cabinet I haveis basically the same as the big pressure cabinet. Are the grates available for them? Mine are very worn now. I have two rectangular grates, one with a handle and a secondary one in the hopper (which is ok to be fair.)

I've been using that procedure for a while but I still always dread using the pressure pot blaster because fine sand will still clog the hose occasionally and these things are so awkward to work with to clear the lines, especially when full of sand!

Hi Ed, Have you checked that its not a media issue or that you have moisture getting in from the compressor?
@lukerestlessstudios9 ай бұрын
Does yours make an insufferable high-pitched screeching sound? I’m in the US and I got one of the pressure pot cabinets from redline stands, who is the US importer of these types of cabinets. Exact same dust collector too. Except mine makes the most earsplitting high-pitched screaming, when under any load at all. And I’m thinking I may have a defect.
@Sandblasters9 ай бұрын
Hi, They shouldn't be giving off a high pitch screeching sound. I've had no complaints about that, however I did have one that came back with a cabinet because the company lost a contract and the extractor was making this awful noise, it was like it was sucking air through the main door. When I opened the cabinet door it stopped, the minute I push the door closed again it started again. I haven't had time to explore any further yet
@lukerestlessstudios9 ай бұрын
@@Sandblasters yup that’s a lot like my issue. Open the door and remove the load from the tubes and it sounds fine. Though with mine I can tell that leak isn’t at the door I think it maybe at the mouth of the motor or in the internal duct that leads down to the filter. I’m thinking about trying to take it apart and just reapply silicone or RTV or some kind of sealant everywhere.
