Yes for equality! Beautiful to hear Suze Pratten and Stacy Etel's song, "Voice!", being taken up by community choirs all over Australia.

No to racial division

Response to Philj3955 - It is telling that in light of the positivity, strong community goodwill and reasoned arguments for the YES case contained in the video all you can come up with is "no". We assume this is because there are no good reasons for voting no, while YES takes us to a more reconciled better place

Division by race is racism, simple.
@fredabeekmeijer7946 Жыл бұрын
Racial division has always existed in the constitution. Originally with the exclusion of rights for Aboriginal peoples to vote and then even more with the provisional power to make “special laws” on the basis of race (section 51). Some also argue there racial undertones and powers that get interpreted from section 25 - though I don’t know enough to comment. It is not division. It is recognition. The Australian constitution is the ONLY constitution from a first world nation with a colonial history that does not recognise its First peoples. Any argument about this being risky and untested is also misguided. (Not that you’re making this point but for education..) Canada and New Zealand recognised their First peoples decades ago. The Sámi Parliament in Sweden and Norway is another example of a formalised body and ‘Voice’ for Indigenous peoples - also with no veto power and an ability to comment on laws and bills that affect Indigenous issues. Also just to highlight, this whole referendum is structurally flawed in that we (97% non indigenous) are voting on whether 3% of the population who have struggled to be heard for hundreds of years should have a voice. The NT that has a majority indigenous population don’t even have their votes counted in the state majority voting system. Simple statements like yours are inconsiderate and blind to the decades of effort that have gone behind this referendum. It takes a moment of compassion to change things for the better.

YES is clearly the right way forward for Australia, anything else would send us plummeting backwards as a country, it's time we do the right thing

Hey mate have you got any videos of Phil with a fake leg? He wants me to compete against him next year haha so there’s 2 legless madmen racing eachother.. it’s a fitting way to start my career as a salt lake racer!!

This is typical of human nature today. It’s hell bent on death and greed. The west can start wars over oil and greed yet not stop these monsters, proof we are being ruled by incredibly evil people.. if I was the leader of a nation I would put a stop to all this crap! I’d set services and forces government funded to help protect wildlife. We are so caught up on saving humans and killing everything else we do not deserve the responsibility of being here, we failed. We are not responsible at all we need to be stopped and punished. Kids can kill kids in America so don’t expect change anytime soon, if anything, it’s gonna get a lot worse… we are in for a battle of good versus evil.
This is bloody excellent mate! Has dlra seen it yet? This was my first speedweek and it definitely won’t be the last!

Trent, your skills and ideas and efforts have come so far, we are so lucky to have someone like you to capture the sights and sounds of Speed Week.
Great production qualities capturing the landscape and the drama that the environment produces , all of which everyone has to submit to. Not to mention the variety of vehicles competing out there in that challenging environment. Well done.
