Great interview. Interesting insights on Stravinsky and Sibelius.

I just love these interviews - it amazes and saddens me that this channel isn't more widely renowned. Definitely outstanding as regards this one - great thought-provoking questions, which Jon responded so well to. Thank you for what you do!

Thank you so much. I have to admit that I often go through stages of doubt, anger and depression over this show. Comments like yours though inspire me to continue. It seems like the shows where all these talking heads blather on, sharing their opinions about their record collection, get a lot more attention than what I do. Like a review of someone's album will get more views than actually interviewing them. It leaves me scratching my head.

i love the story of Steve minding his own business walking past a cafe sometime in the late 1980s when to his astonishment could hear Solar Music Suite ( something similar) being played . The owner being Alex of The Orb whom hooted about the sound of this ambient stuff & for being way ahead of its release time then his astonishment to be meeting its composer! i first heard & heard of Steve & Co in 1981 when the Gas Service engineer i was apprentice to lent me Fish Rising & Angels Egg. Fantastic. The track System 7 did with Rovo is as Wonderous as it gets in my book. Thanks from SW England 😁👽🐢👍

This is amazing…I always got the sense that there were many struggles and hardships in his 70’s heyday, and it’s a shame that he has musically avoided progressive rock for 40+ years aside from string arrangements and so forth with a variety of Kscope related artists.

Can't believe I just came across this. I lived in PHX in the 90s and did the whole New Times musician wanted ads. Met some freaks and geeks and they ALL were awesome people. Even became great friends with a few. Also born in Mesa. Now in Tulsa. But have a MWM tshirt too. 2 worlds just collided for me. Wow.

Having read a lot of the interviews from Rush's "Clockwork Angels" era, Geddy and Alex were very, very aware of Peter Erskine and Neil's lessons with him. They were immensely impressed with Neil's "new clock" and the power behind the kit that he was playing with. He was always known for really pounding the kit hard, but if you look at live videos from the Time Machine, Clockwork Angels, and R40 tours, the kit is literally shaking while he's playing. That came from Peter's tutelage. So yeah, Peter should have passed Geddy that note. I'm pretty sure Geddy would have been humbled to hear from him.

In 1970 my dad worked in London. In the flat below him lived Jeff Green, Gary's brother. I was 13 at the time and he let me play his white strat a little (I couldn't really play then but I bough myself a bass and have been playing ever since) and he played me King Crimson's first album. He also told me about his brother's band, GG--- and I've been listening to them ever since. Thanks Jeff--- you made a deep impression on me!

I'm sorry to say that this whole interview would have been better without the presence of Vaylor. Otherwise, Sean is a good interviewer and Gary is as sympathic as he is a good musician. Interviews on Giant stuff are too scarce. Thanks a lot for making it happen !
