A little late to comment, but as a Canis owner, I have noticed the thickness behind the edge especially in comparison to my wharncliffe Delica. As a plus though, it has an extremely useful tip that is noticeably sturdier than the Yojumbo. The fact that the Yojumbo has thicker stock can make cutting through cardboard just a little more difficult. While the Canis is far from my sliciest knife, it's comfort in hand and blade shape means that it frequently finds it's way into my pocket especially when dealing with cardboard. Lastly, the pivot bushing of the Canis gives it one of the smoothest actions of any knife in my collection. It's certainly an aquired taste, but it's a knife that I appreciate owning.

Thank you, good comparison. I have the Sage 5 in CF/G-10 but generally carry something small in my coin pocket unless I expect to need the Sage. I recently decided to go with the DF2 in PD#1 instead of the Chaparral due to several of the things you noted, including the relatively small size difference between the Sage and the Chap.

I love the Shaman for what it is (albeit a bit overpriced now like most things these days, but I got mine brand new for $134 a couple years back), and the ergos are spot on as well. The Shaman is a solid knife - not super heavy duty like a Cold Steel 4-Max or AD-10 (but the Shaman cuts far better than the AD-10), but far more stout than something like a PM2. It's a great all-around, medium duty knife......good for the farm, the backcountry, working in the trades, etc. The Bodacious is a relatively uninteresting knife - if it was $150, perhaps it would be more interesting.....but they have to be high to charge $270. Well, better yet, people have to be high to pay it lol.

I have that exact knife and I absolutely love the blade. Possibly my favorite blade with k390 And the slicey shape. Back lock is ok. But I hate Seki City handles. I don't love FRN but I much prefer US and Taiwan FRN to Seki City. I don't care about it looking or feeling like plastic. I just hate all those little grooves and nooks and crannys. Whatever is stuck on my hand during the work day - caulking, painters putty, drywall mud etc. just get jammed into every spot and are a bitch to get out. So I rarely use my favorite knife at work cuz I don't feel like cleaning it every week

Like idk, i seriously think benchmade needs to give themselves a good long look, because almost every single other knife company that has done the crossbar has done it better, and kizer is easily the best. Also, their pricing and their grinds and their unreliable quality, it all just falls short.

Mine smashed the aluminum handle with studs and the blade over travelled. Unfortunately the liner couldnt keep up, probably because the locking face one the blade is straight and not concaved. Anyhow epic fail for lots of money

Haven’t got any cpm15v besides a mule, but in Dr.Larrin’s charts s90v is very similar but stainless. Would love to get that Military 2 in 15v though. We will see how long they are around. At least we have time to save up for these knives😅

Tenacious is a great knife, I carry it and love it much more than para 3. And fit and finish is much better on tenacious than para 3, despite it's an American versus Chinese producer. When I spin my para 3 on glass surface, it Wiggles because the surface and edges are not even, on tenacious Everything is perfect the tolerance is much higher.

Super excited for the Gooney. It reminds me a bit of the Myrtle. I was gonna get the SpyNano, but talked myself out of it. I've handled the Nano, and it's just too thick to make any sense. It did make me start thinking about getting a Techno 3, though. Im sure I'll end up getting the Military 2, just in case it's the only 4" 15v we get.

Great comparison, just a thought about your slicing comparison I'll throw in....blade stock thickness doesn't really matter when you're comparing how well two blades slice a piece of paper. When the material is so thin and flimsy that it can easily separate around the blade, you're not dealing with stock thickness at that point, you're dealing with edge sharpness and edge bevel geometry. Blade stock geometry comes into play when cutting rigid materials like heavy corrugated or a rubber hose, materials that don't easily separate around the sides of the blade. You could sharpen an axe to a level that will slice a post-it as well as the Project X did, but if you try to cut down a double wall corrugated box with both you'll see where blade stock geometry makes a difference.

Bodacious seems like a goofy attempt at something new like benchmade's adira or narrows. You mentioned the native 5, I'll say that's their best knife. So basic but optimal and none of the design traps they fall into.

You bought that thing second hand because you are missing a bunch of that tip. Mine came out of the box able to shave hair. No issue with the edge. Surprising you or previous owner broke the tip on the Canis… yojimbo has even more delicate tip.
