Please do not touch the playing surface (grooves) with your fingers. Balance the record with your longest finger at the spindle hole and your thumb along the outer edge. Natural oil from your fingers 0n the grooves causes grime to stick to the record and creates an obvious noise.

It's been decades since I was in Thailand, but one thing I remember is when I booked travel on a bus or shuttle, they waited for you! That was so nice! Because I had a couple close calls. I also stayed in Patong in a really nice hotel for $30 a night! But that was in 2005. Enjoy Thailand! You must be back home by now. So I won't make any recommendations, lol.

Thanks for posting this! I was in Singapore in 2005, but none of what you showed in the Gardens was there at that time. And yes, the humidity was crazy, you're just 1 degree north of the equator! I remember the hawker centers had fantastic food. I remember going to see the Fullerton Hotel on the boat quay near downtown and we went into the lobby to look around and that's when we learned that because the hotel is a historic site, if we asked for a tour, the hotel was obligated to give us one, so they took us up to a luxurious room so we could see the city view from a balcony! There used to be lots of fantastic shopping on Orchard Road. We went to a few clubs too. Interesting that the gay clubs kept changing locations, only a few would stay open for more than a year or two, most would move. But they were always packed and the music was outstanding! Ministry of Sound used to have a club in Singapore, but I think it long ago closed. Enjoy!

I recently flew business class for the first time also when I went to Vietnam in March. I'm 65, so good for you to fly business class at your age! For long international flights, it's the only way to go if you can afford it. I also got very lucky and on two of the four legs of my flights (2 there, 2 back) I got bumped to first class. So cool to witness your excitement. Enjoy your travels!

You'll have a fabulous trip! I've been to Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand before, and just this past March I was in Vietnam. I swear Vietnam was wonderful, it's a fantastic country and the people are really friendly. Dealing with traffic as a pedestrian will be a shock, though. LOL. Don't know where you're going in VN but Hoi An is fantastic, very chill town close to a fantastic beach. Skip wearing the overtly American shirts. Your shorts are really nice. Also, phone e-cards are really cheap in VN you can get set up in the airport when you arrive. It's been years since I've been to Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. Never been to Laos or Cambodia. Have a great time!
