What the fuck. Your take home should be almost double of that. I’ve dispatched my dad’s truck taking 10% of loads, after fuel, 3% factoring, my dad would take home profit around 3-3.5k a week. Running loads mainly in the east part of the country.

So I see two things off the bat that isn't right number 1. You are getting paid .85 cents a mile as an owner operator, you should be getting around 1 to 1.10 dollars a mile. The second thing is you are renting the truck or have a lease to purchase deal with a company that you are working for, and they are legitimately taking you for a ride. Now, the lease to purchase isn't bad, but it depends on the contract that is signed. It can be good if the deal is right. Buying the truck out right or getting financing while you are a company driver still and doing it that way helps out a lot, especially with the fees that you would have to pay to get your numbers insurance and the ridiculous rule of needing to have your truck and insurance for a month before you get your numbers to legally drive the truck. Which, in my opinion, sets up the owner operator to begin to fail seeing as you end up a month behind out the gate with the truck payment and insurance payment plus it takes anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks to get paid for your first load. For a company driver that amount of pay is perfect for an owner operator though you are getting ripped off and should be making way more than that.

I did that once with Bae and Bae when they had me do a $6800 load from Idaho to Pennsylvania. And a load from Minnesota to Utah to get there. But it seems like they never want to give you this type of fortune often.if they would’ve gave me that cross country route I would have stayed in the truck for a couple of months.
