The relationship between country and gospel is like The Marriage Between Heaven & Hell (William Blake). More Songs of Innocence required ..."Life is a one way ticket - ain t no 2nd x aroun .. " - Cousin Joe of Naw-liiiinz (sin = win since : to live = evil). 🇫🇮

Just put it on. Don't try and figure it out. Just let it run it's course. It's like a good mass. Get lost in it and come out feeling better for it afterwards.

Always loved Patti Page’s voice. Thank you for sharing this FULL album! Others cut a song here and there but you included all her Christmas Mercury recordings even Boogie woogie Santa Claus which was recorded earlier than the others, 1950 vs 1955. Merry Christmas everyone!

T O O BADDD 75 % of the cuts ruined by totally unnnecessary, overblown, overstreched, overproduced STRINGS. Makes this POP, not jazz. All the 3 major labels from her best period, the turn of the 50-60s, committed to the sin when in search of commercial success, they thought, would bring it it when furnishing this raw black voice-originality w soaring pop orch arrs. Such a sad choice. ABC, RCA were after biggg hittts, but virtually ended up w ZERO. Only the cha-cha-cha, the gospel and the Story Of The Blues semi-spoken, semi-educational lp,on Jubilee from 56 bring it nicely home. The rest is what just said. Don t also get the purpose,of intentionally separating and splitting the whole albums on randomized basis, that the uploader of this near 5 - hr bonanza has chosen. I have a dozen or so lps ouf of her 35 tot or so. The strings records I always discard.

Coltrane was just a kid when he went into the navy. the reality of things must have propelled him perhaps into dedicating himself seriously into becoming only himself. wish i knew more about Colttane. i think he took to eating practicing horn and sleeping then practicing horn again. giant steps he constructed from some exercise routing on the horn. there was something so romantically alive in his ballads like these. he lived in the dreams he created and shared with us via his horn.

When I see the record player it reminds me when I was a kid, there would be this big piece of furniture that hat a record player and radio in it and I had vaccum tubs in it that got hot and you would smell and feel the heat coming off from the vaccum tubs. It was a big counsel player.

My parents saw Nelson Eddy in concert at DAR Constitution Hall in the 1950s. Mother still talked about how wonderfully he sang 50 years later. Thank you for compiling this wonderful set of Christmas carols -- so uplifting!

A very tastefully recorded album of Christmas music. Nick Reynolds, Bob Shane, and Dave Guard selected some more rare songs that you may not have heard before and the result is exquisite.
