The word Catholic dose not only mean or is only to be used to speak and refair to the church of rome. The word Catholic means universal. Any faith that has people from different country's, with different skins colours, different back ground, different sizes and different languages are all Catholic. The protestant the Jewish faith the Islamic faith the Hindu faith and ALL CATHOLIC. Your lake of knowledge or your miss use of the English language is a disappointment.

What a wonderful exegesis of these installations! I was held rapt when I visited the Orangerie, and the few visitors that day were reverentially silent. I experienced the strangeness of the viewpoint, but was unable to name it, as you so accurately do, as simultaneously above and in front of the subject. As you point out, the lack of a horizon line speaks volumes about the artist's radical innovation here.

Your channel introduced me to Basquiat. He is such an inspiration and seeing his work turned a lot of gears in my head

Awesome channel. Clear. Insightful. To the point. And with some extra little tidbits. Full credit to you. Any book recommendations on art analysis? I read the Lady in Gold by Anne Marie O'connor which was fascinating piece of history, but not exactly delving into the art itself like what you do. Wish you every success, keep up the good work. Just got to the section where you talk about getting your own book deal 😅. Congratulations. . *I see you have listed a book list. Thank you.

I was a teenager when I first saw Magritte, late 90’s. Always saw him as a magician..or the grandad creating wonder and mystery.

Dali was a mess. Amateur. His work has no actual value except maybe for being example of how better go and do something useful instead of pretending to be genius.

Wonderful James. Such an insightful expose of land spiral and earthworks. It was such a shame that Robert Smithson died so prematurely but the land spiral lives on. Perhaps longer than he would have envisioned.

John Singer Sargent, photoshop expert with a brush, before computers were invented. His skill is legendary, but the portraits look nothing like the subjects. No wonder people flocked to him for a portrait. Smaller nose? Sure! Bigger eyes? No problem!

Yes he was admitted to a zap zap institution. His painting is his brains scrambled over canvas. Art??? You've got to be on crack or worse. Just an opinion. 😅😅😅😅😅.And people who spend millions on this c.... are from Mars. Do they have mental hospital on Mars yet? Hope so. 😅😅😅😅😅😅

When you look at these paintings try imagining what kind of symbolism they are trying to use. For example, Venus arriving at cypress on a shell might mean Venus arrived at Cyprus on a boat. The shell being the boat. All of these paintings look like one thing but really mean another thing
