O I am a great admirer of him, missing those years with Well Tempered Band.

Front side of the beat. He talked about this in theory class. He also really understood the M.O. of every other significant bassist. Like Charlie Haydan landed on the middle of the beat.

This is gold, thank you ! I noticed when he demonstrates the solo over C7 as A IV Chord, he actually uses a mixture of G melodic minor and harmonic minor. I've nerver heard that but I love the sound. If anybody as some thoughts about that?
@eddieness92693 жыл бұрын
Yeah man! You can use melodic minor off of the fifth of a dominant, because the b3 of that melodic minor scale is the same note as the b7 of the root dominant

As an aspiring musician myself, Gary Peacock has been an inspiration to me. His musicianship and creativity have gotten me through the darkest of times, and I am deeply grateful to exist on the planet at the same time as such a true genius.

None taken, but i gotta ask, do you play the upright bass? Even the pros go out of tune from time to time. We have good days and bad days, nature of the beast.

The Coltrane tune he is quoting is from the first track on Meditations, The Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost. The melody is also reprised on the third track , Love.

it is a Coltrane tune and some sophisticated lady I think. Can't remember the name of the Coltrane tune though...
