as someone who des label themself as a bad artist i dont do it out of a place of malice or a place of im not good enough but out of a place of hey i have a simple style and ive yet to learn a bunch of the fundamental's to get it to look better i may label myself a bad artist but over my years of drawing i like where im at and im still learning to be a good artist i mostly say im a bad artist as a joke as well

Kinda wish you tried different noses from the 2/3 angle because you drew them almost always in the same style. I noticed the models don’t have the swooping arch and have unique nice noses but you kept giving them the same swooping nose with sharp point at the end which I get is your art style but it’s also such a typical art style 😅 so variety would’ve been nice. Otherwise you were clearly already good! The thumbnail was misleading but I appreciated your dedication even with the breaks

This man is calling me out in every way possible… And yknow what, I needed this because these habits have been making me not draw even though I really want to. Thank you so much for humbling my ego, I didn’t like that guy.

If I had a nickel for every time I've seen a video on how to never improve at art, I'd have two; which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

I scroll pinterest until I see an artwork doing something cool, I then make some unique art implementing the cool technique. Its fun

I’m definitely guilty of not using references, especially because I also am guilty of #1. I like drawing fast cause I have a webcomic and I gotta meet deadlines, so I tend to skip using references, and lol I get bored easily, what can I say? I’m however trying to fix it by sketching quick poses so I have proportions ingrained subconsciously in my mind.

I hate using references of real people because im embarrassed. Not because its cheating but.. the place i draw on my computer is out in the open, and i fear being judged. Being caught out looking at a person's photo. For so e reason the act of doing it feels weird thus i feel discouraged. This fear isn't a rational one. It us an involuntary feeling of being watched and i hate it.

This is such a fantastic video, it’s shot so beautifully. I love how much of the authentic process you showed. It’s definitely an effective way to get across these points that we as artists often already know to be true, but fail to accept. Thanks for making this.

The feedback one really confuses me. I’m in Discord servers where people post their art asking for suggestions on improvement, and then ignore or reject any helpful advice people try to give them. Why do they even ask, if they don’t actually want it?

I personally am the: I don't do art -> I compare myself to everyone else's progress -> I become depressed because of my lack of progress -> I become demotivated af -> I don't do art (and the cycle continues). I was really talented at art when I was a little kid, better than the majority of people my age. But then, the progression kinda stopped, and now many people seem to be way better than me now, which wasn't the case when I was a kid. I really want to end this toxic way of thinking, but it's really hard man. Especially when I see people do crazy art but used to be worse than me when they were the same age as I was :(
