I bet. Them moto are the apex predators of those kind of chunky trails. Went up and down before lunch. I am curious about the condition at the top? I met the owner of the mine later that summer in town and he said he was having a lot of issues with folks riding off trail and really tearing it up. And thanks for watching and appreciate the comment!

Awesome. Yep, that is the easiest spot to cross right there. Now if you are coming north on the trail just to the east and then heading south on this trail, you get to a much deeper spot before popping out on the road. Cross the deep or take the rugged little trail to the bridge. Great content. Wonderful area to ride.

Thanks and appreciate ya watchin. Neat to see this old vid. We revisited this past summer so check back to see those vids in a few weeks. Since this vid was posted three years ago, not only have I learned the ultimate frame rate (this one gets slightly distorted at speed) for uploading at maximum resolution but also that the trail is directional. I had ran it that direction 10 years earlier with no directional suggestion. Guessing this was implemented in the last few years to help with erosion and eliminate conflict with other users?

Solo is not my preference but we have such an odd schedule and don't set many firm plans. That makes is hard to coordinate with other riders. That and I have to take into consideration leaving the dog or wife alone all day so I wind up doing these short 30 mile or 2-3 hour rides. I like to take off after breakfast and be back at the van around lunch or early afternoon. I need to strike that balance and with 8 weeks traveling I don't need to ride like a crack head like I did in the past. But I like the Idea and perhaps will talk about my risk mitigation techniques as a voice over in my next seven min of single track vid. But in a nut shell I make sure my machine is in top working order, I avoid the double black diamond trails or real hard trails. I study the nav like a map geek run both the GPS, paper maps, and pre trip Goggle earth study sessions are a must. I always tell someone my exact track (and avoid the temptation to veer off that intended track) and have a solid network of locals I can lean on if I need to text or sos with the InReach. I do carry survival supplies if I have to spend the night out on the trail (space blanket, fire starter, pocket 9mm, snacks, tow trap kind of stuff). I also have no shame, if it's sketch I don't mind turning around. I'm fully aware of my ability and toleration for risk. You can see in this link that I know my threshold! Yes, that's been where I would ride in the summer. We used to camp at Mud Creek on the Strawberry side a lot. Ride from there to so many different areas, diamond fork, the great western trail, the ridge trail, tibble creek, hobble . I would go explore all day, riding solo like you. Using paper maps. Love that part of the mountains. I haven't been able to get up there for too long! Sometimes life gets in the way of riding. Been wanting to switch from 4 stroke to 2 stroke, just haven't found the right deal yet. Hopefully that will get me out exploring again. Last 5-6 years I got into dual sport big bike rides with a GS1200 adv. So more pavement than dirt. Your videos are getting me motivated to get back to my roots and into the dirt again with a street legal dirt bike.
