I did research for a school work on this as few months ago, and only now did I find this performance. This is in my opinion the best use of the System, in integration with acoustic drums to create this new and intriguing sound. this is absolutely wonderful. Thank you

and in what ways does the actual acoustic Drum kit choice now matter to ones playing? we add the triggers, but the acoustic feel and sound to the drumkit, does that still matter to the artists who used this? the type of shells, wood types, the hoops? how do they effect the playing when connected to the Evans, the tuning and so on?

Hey! Wow, this video brings back memories. I really have no idea what samples were used here. This was from during our Kickstarter before the v1 hardware or software were finished. So we were probably using samples from the internet...

@@SunhouseIncUnderstandable! Thanks for the answer. The part in 3:13 where different parts of a drumset are programmed on a single snare is exciting - so many creative possibilities there. I would have loved a preset configured this way when I was setting up SP for the first time so that I could be dangerous within minutes of unpacking the system.

@@KaroltosTotally -- we do have some presets like this in our v2 sound library (many more in v1). In v2, they are in the "Electric Drum Kits" section of the library -- "Analog Oscar Nadir" and "Octo 80s and 90s" are good examples of a whole kit crammed into a single snare. Pretty fun to play!

the test read, is that activated by him playing or a playback track? can one record any lyrics, poetry, or messages oneself and then activate them to play together with certain chords one set up to start playing at the same time and repeat in a certain order as well?.. that is very interesting.. one can make a whole musical lyric performance this way...
@SimplicityForGood
@SimplicityForGood 8 ай бұрын
what size of drums are you using? is it a good idea to have as wide drums as possible to hit each zone more easily? it would be interesting with an analysis of what drums and what width really seem to work best for the Evans Sensory system... please advise the size and type of drums you believe to be the best kit to buy now .. a lot of Christmas deals out now. I wanna get the Evans and a drum kit that makes me play it as well as possible so as not to end up with too small drums and find it just hard to hit each zone, and also drums with the right rims and the right rebound to get the best dynamic feel when playing... please advise me.. :) am new to electronic playing.. not to drums, and love great rebound or I lose motivation if I play on rubber pads, like the Nord Drum 3P... I sold it.. only due to the small hard rubber pads,, and the interesting sounds of a drum synth, but to a drum for me.. this seems much more in line with my creativity! but what drums, and please do not answer, whatever drums... is not true... Every system needs its' specific drums to give the best performance.. please take me seriously and advise what might be more interesting for percussionists that want to get into this system.. thanks! :)

For someone that came from just playing traditional and electronic drums these videos are very necessary. Although the plug and play aspect is easy trying to deep dive even with the manual is overwhelming. The audition icon explained on another video is a game changer for me, I’ve been tediously going through each set writing down the ones I like. Would love to see a set setup from scratch. Keep up the great work.

Please make that video! the learning curve on this is huge... Also, did you work through the process of working through the software while not being plugged into the Portal?? It seem my newly made wav sample wont make sound unless plugged into it?@@SunhouseInc

Hi @@FriskRobotnik - the audio engine is not on unless there is an in/out device selected. So if you open SPv2 after unplugging your Portal, you'll see the last used device (your portal) listed in red in the status bar on the bottom right. You just need to click that and pick another device like your built-in computer microphone and speakers to reenable to audio engine. Then you'll hear sound again. Let me know if that works for you. thanks!

OK I don't really hear anything that cannot already sound great from the right kit, without the the electronics? the psycho babel speech in the background is mostly ridiculous, felt like I needed to be in a padded cell. Swing and a miss, for me.

I really hope that Sunhouse have more sensory percussion in stock soon as I have just discovered this and absolutely need it in my life! I'll never need a band again! I have had a musical vision for as long as I can remember of not only hybridizing acoustic drums with electric, because that is easily done with the Yamaha EAD10. But having something a lot more customisable than just a dual triggered pad? Holy shit! And to have all this control on top? My drum setup accompanied by this would be ridiculous
