Recommend that you put the two blots in the front of the engine nut side down. That way they won't get in the way of the spark rod.

I’d be less worried about actually rotating the assembly and more worried about flipping the whole engine stand over after it’s rotated…
@864085511 күн бұрын
I" m not trying to be smart but some farm parts get a gear reduction from an older used manure spreader they reduce speed from 540 or 1000 rpm from the tractor PTO shaft about for 400 rpm on the spreader discharge beaters they are a 90°gearbox are reasonably compact and could be fabricated to meet your center point and a larger crank on the input side of the gearbox. Really does not matter what it was used for. I know people will say gross because of what it use to do, once cleaned know one will ever know and you should be able to find one from a farmer that junked an old spreader or a farm equipment bone yard. Try advertising on Craig's list in the farm and garage section. Good luck we do tractor and truck engines that can weight in excess of 1500 lbs we end up having issued of the stand not being wide enough to balance the weight when you try to flip them over and control the weight also!
@davidgoins541711 күн бұрын
The way most modern power windows work, put two cable pulley(one being motor driven) on the frame on the base with acorn screw pully on the the turn point of the stand. A low speed motor or one with gear reduction would be suitable.
@richardmccann481511 күн бұрын
Try adding a counter weight bar, thru the hole. Weld other bars at appropriate angles to achieve balance with sliding set screw counterweights. That is all!

Rebar rod through that hole would maybe work for the short game. A cheater bar of sorts. Other then that if you wanted to get really ghetto about it bolt a gear on front you could remove or get smaller diameter then the mounting hole and rip a boat wench and attach it to the support bar.
@Gen3AntiqueAuto11 күн бұрын

So you set them all to zero lash first off camera , I could have set the entire engine in the same time you did one with a feeler gauge

BTW - I set them to "seated" with no regard to the valve lash - some were .030, some .015 The goal was to not have to take it apart again. These are now set within 0.0001 of 0.010. Show me that accuracy using a feeler gauge.

Doesn't work on a stock used cam - no base of reference. This is a cnc cam, if it's as accurate as the ones he copied - it'll be dead set at 0.010 lash.
