When I saw the title I thought with was a funny little story about how a child gained consciousness of what they are doing, I was very wrong but in a good way

You have created the perfect marketing campaign for eskew!!! This is SUCH an amazing animatic with the perfect vibe for the show! You have really captured the tension and absurdity of the show. Horror from the mundaine. I hope the people in the comments give the show a listen

I love how absolutely terrifying normal childhood behavior is in this context, brilliant

Oh... shit... this is from I Am In Eskew........ Yea, after everything else going on there, I wouldn't trust my suddenly appearing the next day child either. It's just waiting for me to feel some sort of parental responsibility before it locks me in a crib for eternity.

Oh, from the title, I thought it was from a parent being existential, like "She was inside my/my partner's belly the day before and now she's out in the world, living" type of deal

It's terrifying that the best case scenario is that it actually IS some kind of monster masquerading as a child and not her actual daughter, the idea that you could wake up and completely forget the existence of your own daughter is horrible.

My niece was born 2 weeks ago in real life so I thought this was gonna be about how a baby goes from being an anticipated concept to being real and present and how surreal that can be. I held her for the first time last week and, despite knowing how she was forming within my sister, it felt like she had just appeared into existence, which is utterly wonderful and strange

My autistic ass, doing the same thing over and over for 1-2 hours, cause i find it calming, but also very interesting in how different something can feel, when you just alter a little little little thing.

This is so weird, if a random child appeared in your life why would you call it your daughter/son? You wouldnt.

Honestly assuming you can afford to care for a kid this could be a great development. So what if it's some horrifying eldritch abomination? It clearly likes you. Boom, you have just about the best protection you can get from the other creatures, right?

Did they purposely make this feel like it could go 2 ways? It feels like this could just be what it is at face value, some strange entity suddenly manifesting as a child. Or what felt scary for me, A Father who is unfortunately experiencing horrible memory loss of having his beloved daughter.

I often find myself in moments of amnesia some times i forget the name of my roommates and that fact that i know them for a short time but everyone acts normal. Its abit alarming who real this feels but not from a man in his early 20s im in my mid 30s so it kinda hard to explain that i dont remember our last week trip to Walmart cuz its a bit jumbled.

I have no context for what this is, and decided not to open the comments until after I finished it. My primary guess was that maybe they had memory loss or something and were trying to hide it. So as far as they remember, this kid didn't exist yesterday. All the days of them growing up to this age are gone. Ps. In the context of the comments I read about the kid being a monster, does the spouse know? Before this did they have no kids, or did the monster replace their kid?

Is this that thing that happens to young and unprepared moms, were they suddenly start hating their own kid and cry yelling at them even tho they don't mean it

im so confused about what any of this means, but it's so oddly charming. i thought of it as the narrator being unable to come to terms with having a purely, selflessly loving being that just wants to have fun with them as a child does with their parents. though from the comments, this might probably be very far from the truth, very cute animation though!!
