Am I the only one to notice they are completely out of tune at the end of the Kyrie? (actually, way before the end) They finish at least 1 tone under the start. It is clear from the beginning that several singers are unsure of their part and their vocal placement (which probably explains the loss of tone accuracy). The Gloria is even worse, and even lower at the end. Too bad because I really love this Ensemble, and particularly their epic and well-know recording of this piece (which is perfect). Unfortunately, on this occasion it is a miss. At least, as an amateur singer (and with many misses on my side!), it is somewhat reassuring to see that even great professionals can have their bad day from time to time :) Their magnificent and much better recording here (with animated score!) : kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5ioh2doh7CZbKc

something I find amazing with the corsican style of singing is that they can be very out of tune and rythm and it'll sound amazing and perfect. Not even wrong. I think it's also true in this recording. Nothing is really shocking or annoying to the ear

Das Lied von der Erde est une « symphonie pour ténor, alto et grand orchestre » composée par Gustav Mahler d’après La Flûte chinoise de Hans Bethge. Il s’agit d’une suite de six lieder interprétés successivement par les deux chanteurs solistes. Les textes furent revus par Mahler selon son habitude.

This is an interesting interpretation and I am not disputing this ensemble's scholarship, but the piece is unusual because it shifts back and forth between the plagal Mixolydian mode and the authentic Dorian mode. Both modes cover the same territory, although the finalis of each mode is different. It is a bit of a jolt to hear her singing a b flat in a Mixolydian passage, but I can understand why she does it. If they are interpreting it as a Dorian passage the rule of 'una nota super la semper est canendum fa' would be in play. My opinion, however, is that those passages are in the hard hexachord and that a b flat would not be warranted. This ensemble's musicianship, however, is not in question. They are a superior ensemble and they play beautifully.

Magnifique, j' étais le 02 02 24 au Théâtre d'Arras. Le concert était magnifique avec Adèle Charvet et "Le Consort", un vrai talent de cet ensemble nous a fait passé un moment merveilleux. Pour tous ceux qui adorent Antonio Vivaldi et l'ambiance musicale de cette époque à Venise, une disquette en témoigne. BRAVO à ADELE et à l'Orchestre "Le Consort" . Zenon

What a fantastic band! And how well and flawlessly they play. You can't believe how happy I am to stumble into them. After the Sollazzo Ensemble, Mala Punica and the Capilla Flamenca they are going to be my new favourite medieval group. What a nice voice! I am thrilled from my forehead to my toes.
