Yes. They most definitely do come into the house as I found out the hard way. Thought they were gone, plugged hole with Great stuff. 300-400 found their way into our sun room as the regular exit was now sealed. They all eventually died in the sun room, vacuumed all the dead ones up, for a few days there was none and now they are back. Outside the house there is a another entrance where they enter and exit. Put a soapy water dish out with some peppermint oil and they are drowning in that as they leave the hive. Lived around wasps for 30 years, but this year in central Canada, they have been the worst I have ever seen.

+Search UK Pest Control Ltd No, they were wasps. I then read that you should never block such holes as the wasps will find another way in/out. However, the following day I removed the blockage and the wasps havnt returned - touch wood.

I have bees in the wall, they're way less active than wasps, but they are trying to dig through the drywall, any tips?

I forgot to mention that I flooded the hole with water. Also, when I blocked it up the gathering wasps attracted birds. Since then the wasps havnt returned. You could try placing bird food in that area because I know that black birds often feed their young on bees.
