No I disagree with you the problem is with school system where its all about going to uni and not trades. I don't think any locksmith today could smith a lock! this means making a lock with out buying parts from supplier making everything from scratch. the other thing is today the jobs are being de-skilled. you even look at plumber's they don't plumb pipes together using solder in most cases now. So locksmithing is being de-skilled too.

As a locksmith and gate maker I agree leave as it is How ever I have recently moved over to viper locks simply for the cost. I would buy up all the locks of the model you use just as a backup

It's a shame that D&D sold their soul to the Devil. Assa Abloy are a global pig. I avoid the use of their products as they are over priced and at best par in quality. I spend my money here in Australia with Carbine being my drug of choice. I would hazard to guess the R &D Dept at Carbine in Sydney is probably scribbling out a design as we speak. Hope they produce a quality clone to retro fit. Time will tell. Have a good one:-)

i can clearly see that gate can be easily open by frying a flat metal thick enough to go in between the gap. You should install or weld a flat bar to prevent that from happening
