So I’m fixin to do this on my JD1010 and mine came with black white stripe wire and black wire. So let me get this straight. Black and white goes to negative on coil And black goes to positive. So why can’t I just take the nut off of my positive side of coil and attach black wire instead of splicing???? Thanks.

@@sneezeacres5240 sorry the bolt that goes into the shaft that holds down the fan and the belt disc snapped so I couldn’t tighten it up. I tried drilling the bolt out but it didn’t work, so I hooked up a revolving pad to sit above the fan to keep it in place (I would send a picture but I don’t think this format allows it). I didn't lock the top part (underneath the blower part under the hood. Also my pto clutch was not flush against the drive pulley even with the washers. So i added 2 mores but everything dropped as soon as I engaged the pto on the second attempt. I hope it makes sens. I wish I could show you that way you could help me out.
