24:30 "I Waited for the Lord" for soloists and chorus is often done separately as a church anthem.

This is my most favorite piece of all time that inspired me to move to the US to learn the organ. Seeing a fellow malaysian perform it just makes me feel so emotional! Keep doing the great work of inspiring more malaysians to appreciate bach music.

The performance is magnificent - but I still prefer the original version. Compare "The Night is Departing" with "Die Nacht ist vergangen!" Mendelssohn's "Lobgesang" in German - and Handel's Messiah in English!

Beautiful performance, but ... the conductor should have given when/where the orchestra should have picked up their instruments just before playing. Maybe 10 seconds? Maybe 15 seconds? It was very awkward to see them doing it differently.

Every orchestra I've ever watched picks up their instruments at different times. What orchestra have you seen which synchronizes that?

999 subscribers and I just added my subscription so now he has his 1000 sùbscribers, David can now be moneterised and so he should be, his little ensemble are trying something very difficult and it's obvious they need more practice but they are doing well and this is one of Bach's great cantatas. It's deceptively simple but is so rarely done well but we never discourage anyone from bettering their efforts.

@@marckg6950 Thanks for reading... You dont´need to know about Music to enjoy Bach. Try listening to the 200 Cantatas and then tell me about your experience. Have a nice and Bachiano new year. Greetings.

Yes, I am through cantatas. Amazing. Each piece I read the lyrics or about the instruments or the history or interpretation of the piece. The leg up i had on liking this is I was in a youth choir, and we sang in Latin for 7 years. Also, my daughter sang in college and did, in fact, sing some Bach contatas. I love the wooden flutes. Took me a while to notice no piano, were after Bachs time. I was just amazed at how did he write all this , sometimes weekly. I can't comprehend why more of his music isn't used in popular culture. I could pull out so many lines and put in movies. The choir I was in was Catholic, so Bach wasn't much of a thing. Took me while to figure that out. I also considered Bach being old and boring. But I found out he had 22 kids and pulled a knife on someone during a practice. So much more will send part 2.
