To whomever produced this video, I’d like to mention that the owner reads as having a strong, “IT’S MY ISLAND!” energy that seems to crescendo as it goes, even to eyebrow raising levels. The viewer is left with an impression that this place represents something other than a Californian or even American Way of Life. He is a land lord, sure, but a pretender tyrant? A Roman-style father figure to subjects and slaves? Perhaps this resort wants to be seen as a bit more like Monaco to France - the Principality of Palos Verdes. How unappealing. Why would I want to participate in that? Why go There for that? How about present him as he is? A Landowner. Resort owner. Businessman. Subdivision developer. Owner of beautiful places and curator of fine memories. That would be more interesting and inviting. I did like the environmental stuff. Beautiful video otherwise.

As a former Marineland employee (musician, music director, sound engineer 1980-1984), I can attest to the fact that this piece of land is one of the most beautiful places in Southern California. Being able to look out over the ocean, see whales out there, ships, Catalina island, amazing sunsets, along with getting to even play with some of the dolphins while setting up mics for their trainers (one named Angel loved to try to pull me into their pool for fun, and almost was successful). I did not know that Terranea managed to keep many of the original trees that were growing at Marineland. I also appreciated the respect employees at Terranea showed to us Marinelanders, the times we have celebrated reunion parties there. It is nice to hear that Terranea shares many of the same values of nature that Marineland did, since we were not merely there to entertain people, but to inform people about nature, in particular, sea life.

Malnourished because of local overpopulation. You've "rescued" a seal, and continue to "rescue" seals that NATURE has selected to go. You've acclimated that seal to man equals food source. ...contributing to the local overpopulation. Nice cycle and job security. When we're short on seals then start. Until then keep pumping out man friendly seals,.... they're easier for the Great Whites to catch.

Another reason why not to visit Sea World. The owner of sea world bought this park just to destroy his competition.

If you have an opportunity to stay here, I highly recommend it. The property is absolutely gorgeous, the staff is phenomenal, and I'm sure you'll agree that the ocean view from your room balcony is simply breathtaking. Every amenity is decadent and luxurious, and you'll literally feel the attention to detail throughout your stay. Thanks Terrenea, we'll see you again soon!
