This is terrible that y'all would have 19 "extra dollars" and arts and culture is ANYWHERE in the conversation when there are homeless incampments becoming more common, there are run down buildings and you got children that don't got clothes, food, school supplies, etc ... I don't care if already have a budget dedicated to the homeless and so on its obviously NOT ENOUGH. Also why the hell would you need to raise property taxes thus threatening MORE homelessness when you have extra moneys. Don't make too much sense. It doesn't make a difference how many statues or murals we have when there is a family sleeping on the sidewalk under it.

Dear Sedgwick County officials: I don’t know if you’ll see this, but please, PLEASE hold on to your Thunderbolt sirens for as long as possible. When compared to the FS 2001’s, the Thunderbolt seems louder, more distinct, and does an all-around better job of alerting the public of the very real danger that is approaching. Johnson County has long replaced its Thunderbolt sirens, even if it wasn’t necessary. Don’t make the same mistake.
