Steamship deserves and least okay category. They don't look impressive until you look at their faculties. They have the same firepower stat as a 2nd Rate Ship of the Line, but it's packed into 34 powerful cannons that penetrate hulls very effectively which leads to random detonations hilariously often. Basically anything 4th rate and below have a good chance of getting 1 shot by a Steamship. if the Steamship is lucky. Combine that with the fact you can not cripple a steamship, and wind has no real effect on a steamship, and that they're as agile as 5th or 6th rate. Steamships are actually quite awesome. They're just not great vs Ship of the Lines. But I'd argue they're one of the better support ships that doesn't feel like cheating, fireships I'm talking about you. Basically in medium/light weight battles Steamships are the most powerful ships in that category If macroed even effective against large ships.

I would put the Fifth Rate in the GodTier. It has good range, good accuracy, good reloading ability, good speed, good maneuverability, doesn't cost much to recruit and most importantly doesn't cost much to maintain. The only bad thing is when it faces steamboats, rocket boats and bomb Ketch. Which there is no other way to counter them than with larger ships, brigs and smaller ships respectively.

I always put 3 fifth rate on my fleet for that reason alone. Fortunately enough, I guess there are no rocket ships in the Imperial destroyer in which I'm currently playing lol.

I agree 5th are awesome but against larger ships if you don't micro them they will get demolished !

Ottoman janissary and bashi bazouks have great melee stat and very cheap, if you use 3 janissaries wisely you can eliminate 6 line infantry or more :D

I hate the Black Watch. Very expensive for rather mediocre stats compared to Britsh Foot and especially when compared to The Connaught Rangers.

I agree, i was not sure to include them on the list but the fact that they inspire troops (unlike the units you mentioned) decided me to give them the last place on the list ! (plus they look really cool !)
