Gotta wonder if Bill Snyder was channeling that opening drive in the 3rd quarter when K-State played Tennessee in the Cotton Bowl. Let's just come out and shove it down their throats.

Pretty crazy to think these fans screaming and hollering and cheering had no idea what was about to happen the following year. After 20 years of oh so close, everything was about to change.

Nebraska had arguably their most talented defense in their history and Bo still lost 4...people say Nebraska lacked talent and had bad luck but this team had arguably the best defender in NCAA history, a top cb, and lavonte david who might make the NFL hall of fame.

Nebraska offense had 9 starters offensive starters from the state of Nebraska and won a national championships Talk about a great program, great head coach, great system, and great play-caller. This is like a team from Idaho winning the national title with a majority of players from idaho. Will never happen again sadly.

In reference to Nebraska, as a Husker fan since the early 80's, they won't be "back" until they're winning no less than 9 games a season, making teams afraid to play them, being a consistent variable in the national championship discussion, being in the top 5 in running the ball, always being ranked, etc. Nebraska was so good for so long it became normal. Winning only 9 games in a season was a "bad" year. Not being ranked in the top 10 was a failure. But It can easily be argued that I'm spoiled and that my expectations are too high.

Meanwhile, ESPN was running their mouths claiming that Florida was going to run circles around Nebraska and Sports Illustrated had cartoons claiming that Florida had the racing cars and Nebraska had the steamrollers. Both ESPN and Sports Illustrated got put in their place.

They absolutely mauled Florida. A college football team that can never be matched-past, present, or future. Think with an unbiased perspective for a second. O-Line, D-Line, O and D backs. Pure speed and strength with a game plan devised by one of the greatest coaches in collegiate history. No NCAA team since would have been able to take them. Astounding.

@andyeighttre In the discussion of college football, that's an argument to be had, as well as LSU 2019. Personally, I would pick Nebraska but I'll admit I just a little biased. 😊

Seeing this live in ‘95… boy, that final throw/interception by Brook was devastating to witness. He had played so well up until that moment. But we all know the happy ending made the tension worth it. When Tommy resurfaced in the fourth quarter, it was like watching a fifth quarter. Crazy fun! Still the most satisfying NU victory in thirty years, including last night’s victory over Sanders’ CU.

It was only fitting that the big 12 final conference championship game in football was between the two teams that dominated that conference because remember it was a big eight before the big 12 and the two teams that dominated the big eight were definitely Nebraska and Oklahoma

The personal foul committed by NE in the third period was probably due to the way the runner was tackled. He landed on his back on top of the tackler and popped straight back up. The second defender probably thought the ball carrier hadn't touched the ground and was still elegible to run.

This was a supremely disappointing end to the objectively best team I’ve seen in my living memory. I don’t understand how they went from nearly beating OU and winning the Big 12 with an injured Taylor and Cody Green to getting handled by a 6-6 Washington team they had put 56 points on on the road earlier in the season.
