This was so stupid, I just wanted to get an honest answer. Not some type of school kid prank . That wasn't even that funny for the woman to practically have to be hospitalized. Definitely not impressed.

The ride at the end where Katie was riding the bike was great! I have this idea. I know there are many people with trucks, trailers for pulling lawn mowers would come and help. Hey, why not start a Support Group from your followers?

Really, really enjoyed the episode I watched today! I do not have chickens or an electric bike or mass acreage you have. So I thoroughly enjoy the ride around, chicken egg collections, seeing the brooding hens, picking her up and she was gracious. Could you explain about broody hens and why some do this and some don’t. I live you telling the roosters too.
@TheKraemerLife
@TheKraemerLife Күн бұрын
There are certain breeds of chickens that are more prone to going broody. From my experience and our flocks it is the larger breeds. Our Brahmas, Marans, Cochins, Olive Egger, Salmon Faverolle, and Black Australorp. The RIR, Legbars, Ameraucanas, and Buckeyes much less likely to go broody...age also plays a bit of a part.

I don't know if you and Nate track your steps per day....but I bet it is several miles. Hopefully, this will help make things easier for you.
@TheKraemerLife
@TheKraemerLife Күн бұрын
Yes, we put in several miles a day just doing chores, walking the dogs, and filming KIK. The trike has made it easier when you want to run and check something real quick and its quieter and less bumpy than the lawnmower.

Hey, Katie what type of bin is that broody hen sitting in? Did you try using that for dust bath as well? thank you, Darlene
@TheKraemerLife
@TheKraemerLife Күн бұрын
They are stackable bins we got from Home Depot. We use a slightly smaller one for their dust baths but these would likely work as well.

Great video Kate! I like the videos more when you and Nate are doing them alone! The talking ones where you are talking about what you both have been doing seems so stressful, maybe just my age. I worry about Nate destroying himself mentally and physically on that house and if he is going to even enjoy it with you when its done!

Foot, horse (animal conveyance), wheel, carts, wagons, bicycle, combustion engine, car, truck, tractor, (more tractors), riding-lawnmowers, hybrids, e-bikes, e-lawnmowers, e-tractors (I'm sure I left thousands of things out or mixed the order, and I'm sure there are more to come...). Point is, humans have been using and adapting the technologies available to make their lives easier and more efficient. If you've watched this channel, you'll have seen that that the Kramers don't rush in. (It took Nate months to select his tractor, for example.) Thanks Katie for showing us how you've adapted this technology into your daily homestead life.

You got to have a bit of smoke it wouldn't be a fire without any, got to make enough to go with your carbon footprint whatever that is to make a pair. All that smog we used to get in London in the 1950's and the early 1960's extra smoke on November 5th Guy Fawkes day.

I find it really weird/suspicious how many comments there are here about the subject of rodents and pig feed when the subject of the video was reflectix on the roof. Big brother doesn't like it when people think for themselves, flood the comments section with NPC's commenting common sense stuff.

Smokeless burn barrel “update”: That flimsy “vortex creating” wood shelf at the bottom.....is now a rusted, heat deformed, non functioning shadow of its old self....😂 Final analysis: Buy some angle iron....and stick welder, and fabricate a proper burn platform that will actually last a few years.

That might keep the dogs in since they are trained to it,but I doubt it will keep other animals out. Why not put a piece of anchor fencing across the creek - the water can flow through it but the animals will be stopped. Seems a bit simpler. You might have to clean it off once in awhile as things flow against but that seems easy enough.

Saw on another channel where lengths of black pipe were hung close together over a creek, giving the appearance of a solid barrier, but still allowing water and debris to flow through.
