Hey, thank you for your wonderful video. I believe it would save time however to skip the multiplying by gravity constant. It cancels out in the end. Keep up the good work :)

Idk how he knew but in my FBD I assumed force EF was in tension and later when I solved EF it came to be negative, which means it acts in compression pointing to the left.

How did you get that 3,4 triangle ?

They recognized the ratio the triangle was making. If you made a right triangle using E and F as the hypotenuse, you'd find that the triangle would be 2m long (as shown at the top) and 1.5 m tall (3 - 1.5 = 1.5). Knowing that it's a right triangle, if you multiply 2 and 1.5 you get 4 and 3 for the base and height. And thanks to Pythagoras, we all know what the hypotenuse is of a triangle with base 3 and height 4
