So beautifully done

I've heard her older stuff. She was not that good doing the old timey country. She made a career changing choice in starting to do covers, imo.

what? you don't listen to much of her then

@thehinge - I love her singing the old-time, such as "Get Out and Get Under the Moon" "My Dixie Darling" kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJWpk3aCnc58Y80 ---> Carter Family "My Dixie Darling" at 1:46 in kzbin.info/www/bejne/pH6xapV_pK5-j5Y ---> Sierra Ferrell in 2016 "My Dixie Darling" and (from 1847) "Gum Tree Canoe" :-) I'd like to hear Sierra Ferrell cover "Would You Like to Take a Walk?" Annette Henshaw. (hopefully avoiding the Betty Boop cliches of the late 1920's) As to the cover songs, I PREDICT Sierra Ferrell originals will increasingly, in the fullness of time, displace the covers. ... btw "Wish You Well" is a quiet but FIERCE blockbuster

She seems. Uncomfortable without her guitar or fiddle in her hands. Always a great joy and great talent. ❤️. You Sierra.

Beautiful!! But this is a Kris Kristofferson song covered by Janis (and the Dead and many others).

As she intro'd the song she basically said she was listening to the Janis version and it inspired this. So while the song was absolutely written by Kris, I think she is covering Janis' interpretation

A "cover" means a cover of a performance, not notes and words on paper. Just because Kris wrote it doesn't mean Janis' is cover of his version. This was recorded and released by like 5 other artists before Kristofferson released his own version of it, including: Kenny Rogers, Gordon Lightfoot & the Statler Brothers. This version is 100% a cover of Joplin's rendition, and Joplin's rendition is most similar to Kenny Roger's rendition. Out of all the people who recorded this song, Kristofferson's version sounds the LEAST like Janis'. So....this is Janis Joplin cover.

@@frankrmineo they’re referring to the video title… it is credited to Janis but it’s Kris song the world should know especially after his death
