I feel like this theme really captured humanity's struggle throughout its history between progression for the good of mankind (during the escalating notes) and between the battle of corruption and destruction (the deescalating notes). But the collective will for peace and progress is stronger and becomes more prominent notes in the song as it goes on.

This theme just a definition of this game, its design, its spirit. It sounds monumentalistic. The fate of the whole nation is in your hand and you can't make a mistake. So beautiful

The first real video game I ever played. My father taught me at age 7 to play, and I clearly remember that I lost to Hiawatha’s GDRs, while I was still using riflemen. Thank you, Firaxis. You made my childhood.

i miss those days, where u can micspam low quality audio and everyone overspammed each other which was hilarious. today you'd get vote kicked off a casual server for micspam being assumed as a bot, and or people not appreciating the micspam, new generation of players are a different breed.

This is a great song, but I feel like it's living in the shadow of Baba Yetu and Sogno Di Volare (themes of Civ 4 and 6 respectively). I think that if those two games didn't have absolute banger theme songs, this one would be a bit more recognized.
