I've noticed something about this and wondered if its it's something he does a lot... Sometimes he will play just a single note right after the chord in the LH

Bro just write it in the correct time signature. 260 bpm? This adherence to 4/4 is ridiculous Edit: it's in 2/2 and 4/2 btw

The modulation from C major to B major is simply stunning, the voice leading is beautiful but mostly that B major is such a warm hug, usually tracks finish with an upward modulation to increase tension and "excitement" but moving 1 half step lower is so gorgeous

That scale/line in measure 27-28 is sick.
@robertotoledo1501 Жыл бұрын
He uses whole-tone and altered/symmetrical diminshed a lot, it's typical of the period and neo-classicists. But every measure is a banger really, Herbie just pulls stuff out of a hat when you least expect it, like 47, the hot sequence at 80 - 82 which carries on throughout, or the craziness at 145, going onto the funk at 149 and onwards

I really think this is one of my favorite arrangements of his because it’s just him on one vocal line and the piano. I really get the chance to analyze and appreciate the harmonic and melodic choices he goes for, and there’s a simplicity even to how he approaches the melody. It’s really beautiful with his “warm blanket” tone and the phrasing of it all as well.

Gorgeous. I should check out more Taylor Eigsti. Should I listen to this album?

_Bar 8, beat 1-2, RH:_ I'm hearing C# A C#, not E A C#. If you focus your ear on the Eb from the previous bar you can hear that voice move down to C# of the next voicing. _Also bar 8, 'and' of 4, RH:_ There's an F# between the E and B.

I don't like Hancock, this solo once again convinced me that it wasn't mine. I can listen endlessly to Peterson or Evans, and here, some chromatic autumn leaves fall on your head like stones...

I just love young people playing jazz. I’m 83. Phantastic. Continue like this. I have subscribed and waiting for a new version. A bit slower, Listen to the versions with the 2 bass player Ray Brown and the danish fellow. More dynamics. You on your way!

bro just transcribe the whole LH and that point, you're being annoyingly lazy on it. I've done plenty of full LH transcriptions mostly just comping just to see how they do it, great job otherwise
