I cannot get this to work. Was there an update where you need to name it something different?
@jjsemperfi Жыл бұрын
I had a hard time with it initially until someone suggested trying # and then TP00 and so forth. I’ve seen videos where it worked without the # symbol as well so I’m not sure. I use #TP00 and so on and it works for me.

@@PeteV80 Ah, you have to go into your control bindings and bind that key. I think it might be under UI? I’m away from the computer but it’s an actual binding somewhere.

@@PeteV80 Are you trying on the air or the ground? The behavior seems to be different: If you do it on the ground, the targets get imported to kneeboard and are automatically assigned to target points. If you do it in the air, they won't show up on kneeboard and won't be assigned to target points, but are found under CAS->RCALL.
@jjsemperfi Жыл бұрын
Two things I realized. I called the pound symbol a hashtag 🤦♂️. Also, when selecting “use” from CAS page and entering target numbers on UFC it would group them and say T12, T23, T34…..as in 1,2,3,4,5. Derrr 😂 Also, sorry for all the lip smacking mouth sounds. I’m new to recording voice
@jamesfenton3751 Жыл бұрын
There was an update, not sure when but you no longer need a throw-away TP0. Also don't need double digits. So now the targets are labeled #TP1, #TP2... etc. Works much easier now than the old way. Love Harriers, thanks for the video!

I bought the WBP Polish 1960 carrier and bolt, it was a drop in. However, both the Century and my Sam7 recoil springs would cause the BCG to get hung up. I took a chance and ordered Part AK-339 "Telescoping Type Recoil Spring Assembly for 7.62x39mm 556x45mm Milled Receivers" from Arsenal. Was $39.99 plus S&H. No more hang-ups! SAAMI no-go gauge would not close, so headspacing is good to go.

Owen Omen You can have a gunsmith shave down the bolt too make the headspace correct.
@TheDachshundGaming7 жыл бұрын
I'm going to have to do likewise, the bolt closes nicely, but seizes shut once locked in. I think the bottom of the bolt is getting caught up. I'm going to have to have it head-spaced professionaly to save my C39 from the usual overly quick 500 rd wear and tear of the century parts. Got a Polish 1960 carrier as well.
@oweng22907 жыл бұрын
same, i have yet to take it into the shop. some of the bolt carrirers on the c39v2 were made good enough to withstand a beating ,others are flakin like some corn chips. Once again it's a quality control thing, but I plan on having it headspaced eventually to swap out when the wear gets obscene.
@TheDachshundGaming7 жыл бұрын
I'm only doing it so early because I'm afraid if I let it get too messed it those parts will damage others and cascade through the gun. You can always replace a bolt, carrier spring etc, but if it damages the receiver then the gun is just a big paperweight.

So if you'll notice towards the top of this "vertical take off" I'm pulling about 23.5" almost 24" MP which, depending on atmospheric conditions, at 5,016' MSL is about all we can pull. So yes, that was a max performance take off. We hit throttle stop a lot up here.
@paintball32111 жыл бұрын
I believe what MrStockto was getting at was, with what we can see with the instruments and outside reference, the maneuver looked more like a vertical takeoff rather than a max performance takeoff

@jjsemperfi12 жыл бұрын
Let me know if you have any other questions. I'd be happy to help you out. The VA process is terrible and you will soon find out that you know more about the program than the school counselors do. You'll probably spend some time on hold with the VA looking for funding, or housing allowance or something that has gone wrong. But in the end, they will end up paying a lot of money for you to learn to fly helicopters, which is amazing no matter how you cut it!
@jjsemperfi12 жыл бұрын
Yes! You'll have to go through an accredited college program. Take your time with it. Don't over load yourself with credits because if you finish all of your aviation classes too early then you won't be able to take enough credits to be considered full time for the VA and you won't be eligible for your housing allowance. Also, it usually takes the VA about 2 months to process flying money so do it as soon as possible, that way your flying funds will be available quickly.

Hows that work out? I just decided I should be flying heli's and I have GI-bill benefits... do you have any suggestions that may save me alot of undue hastle? I'd really appreciate any direction you could give. That said, I eagerly look forward to having an instructor pull surprises for me to deal with... Thanks for the upload!
@jjsemperfi12 жыл бұрын
There are tons of grants, the question is trying to get them just like any other grant there is fierce competition. Just have to start looking. Most grants and scholarships I found were tied into an accredited college degree program though. So you'd have to get an associates or masters in an aviation related field to make it work.

@dustinhinton. My training has cost about $150K so far but I am on the Post 911 GI Bill. If I wasn't I would be flying airplanes and not helicopters. The loans just aren't worth it to me. But if you're prepared to pay back those loans then go for it.

jjsemperfi, I almost got stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. I had seen a helicopter school advertised up around Denver that flew Schweizers and Enstrom F-28's. So, I think you may be flying at the very school I would have gone to. I tried finding a way to e-mail you on here, but couldn't find one. Keep up the good work and be safe. Stay in touch. SGT V

Honestly, we don't know 100% for sure. It was an extremely windy night, but wind died down to 11 knots almost straight down the runway. But shifted to a left quartering headwind. So, we suspect wake (vortices) from the main rotor were blown into the tail rotor. It started slow, then my headsets shot off my head it was spinning so fast. It was very violent and terrifying. I honestly thought I was going to die. Somehow I managed to keep it from flipping over with the cyclic, but landed hard.
