I must of paused that video 25 times while watching it. The video is awesome shows outworks of this castle I have never seen before and water on both side. You can start to see how the defenses actually worked. Its a lot more impressive than that tiny gate house you see on all the published pictures of this castle.

Hauntingly beautiful video, thank you so much for sharing. In the flesh, Rothenburg ob der Tauber can be a bit of a tourist trap but if you go in the off-peak season you can mix with the locals and really enjoy the place at a much more relaxed pace than during the holiday season when you are dodging hordes of tourists and their selfie-sticks.

...I was stationed in Illesheim (8 Nov '71 - 18 Jul '74) about 25 K from here...spend a lot of time walking the streets and soaking up the history & beauty of this gorgeous little town...love it and miss it!!!
