I'm doing this Friday, is the Watkin path easy to follow without a guide map ?
@TeaInValhalla4 күн бұрын
@problemslayer3538 it's a clear path/route. We always carry a map, in case the weather changes/fog or mist comes in. Better safe than sorry. Of you are an experienced hikers you'll find and follow the path easy 👍🏴🫖❤️ have a great trip! Ceri and Kat 💙

That combined with a change of circumstances at work, has ment video making time has taken a back seat. Glad you ate enjoying the videos, very much hope to make more in the not so distant future. Ah Retro TIV! Before the talking and second camera 😮❤️ I just did Moel Hebog solo last weekend. It was incredible! I was meant to do all three like yourselves but that grassy descent from Hebog ruined my knees and quads! I had to hang a right and bail before the second summit. Great effort, that’s a tough one 👊🏼👍🏻

It's a lovely area with so much variety, and nice and quiet too, I'm a local fell runner and it's my main stomping ground, beautifully shot video, Drum is pronounced Drim and here's a little known fun fact for you, the trig point on Foel Fras isn't on the summit, I don't know why not but the actual summit is 70m away from the trig point, I've tried to find out if it was just a simple mistake but I've never found an answer, the summit of Drum was also a secret experimental radar station in WWII called Blue Joker, that's why there's a really wide and drivable path running down from it all the way to Aber so the army trucks could drive all the way to the summit.

Red pike: the only summit from which you can see five lakes. On a clear day the Isle of Man is visible. My first visit to Buttermere from Wasdale via Scarth Gap was in 1969. Second was 1974 when I discovered the pleasure of the original Croft Farm coffee shop. Now, every walk I do around the Buttermere fells, I try to be sure to finish I time for latte, a snack and an ice cream in the same, extended, coffee shop.
