I was blessed with the opportunity to have experienced Mr Fritz system. The closest sound I have experienced is when attending a concert at the Royal Opera House and even then I have my doubts of which sounds better.

Shame he spent a million dollars on speakers and didn't spend a few hundred bucks on scientific journals pointing out the significant flaws in vinyl vs. digital sound. He never even drank the high-res audio kool aid!

It’s all gone now except the room, sold off at his death for pennies on the dollar. Clearly his wife didn’t care about the man’s life passion.

A few things to this: First of all do whatever you like. I couldn't justify doing anything like this in front of others or myself. A few things always surprise me. First of all you can enjoy music without spending a fortune. It's a weird assumption that loving and enjoying music means you have to spend a lot of money. Not at all. If you love it so much maybe learn an instrument and some music theory. Then why do those people listen to records? They are pretty much the worst choice when it comes to audio quality. No matter the amount of trickery you do with your turn table. And why are those people always old, which means they have rather bad ears already. It will always remain a mystery to me.

I fabricated my first piece of "audio equipment" when I was seven, a square of aluminum foil, a straight pin held in place with candle wax, the tip of the pin placed in the groove of a record, my homemade device actually played music, albeit with a very "tinny timbre"! I went on in life, to design and fabricate almost every type of audio equipment utilized in the recording and reproduction of music, in fact I won an Emmy for a live recording of the opera Faust. If you wish to see the final result of all of this effort in life, search KZbin with the following: "JBL Synthesis creator", you will see two videos describing the very first, fully-engineered audio reproduction facility on the planet! David Riddle P.S., Please see my other eight KZbin videos by searching: howtohomelife.

Why foes the brain havr to be comparatively ugly and vulgar. Why arnt the components disassembled and thier working mechanisms repackaged and/or the interface for the mechanisms reconfigured and redesigned to be a central component, much like the chairs at the focal point? A standard lamp, overhead lighting blind or other integrated art piece, contain enclosed and hidden cameras / sensors to monitor and record head/eye tracking. A glance to a particular area could initiate the settings /adjustments available for a desired component component to become visible in that area. Ie ; A transparent display screen or water water vapour hologram activates, or better yet the display interface is an art piece also and the use of cymatics and/or harmonics is employed to use nature for representing the component settings / controls / operation. And while eye tracking identifies the users intention to access a particular component for monitoring or adjusting operational performances, the means of engaging the interface could be done by touch sensitive sensors embedded in the chairs armrest. While this approach isn't for every interface of the infrastructure, it would be a worthy means of incorporating the main controls into the artwork and focal point of the creation

I’ve too grown up hooked on stereo systems since the 1st day I heard one at 5yrs old. Today I’m 71 years years young and I must say that I’m truly moved by the documentary about Ken Fritz. I was amazed with his engineering knowledge of so many diverse areas from listening room design to speaker design, to turntable and amplification design. Unfortunately, it came with a cost to his family. I too have a passion with all my albums and many different systems set up in my home. I found that the family thing was a challenge that was something I needed to master. Mr Ken Fritz, I believe that I really understand you. You built your “SWAN SONG” dream including your perfect listening room. All the time while I was watching your Documentary, I thought that this room, this sound system, should never part. If I knew of this man’s achievements had past, I would have purchased the home for a good price and set it up to achieve his wish and his final legacy. Well it wasn’t to be. I ran across his Documentary on August 14, 2024. It has moved me so much. Well, Mr Ken Fritz, I will say this… “YOU’RE IN PARADISE LISTENING TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SOUNDING-SYSTEM THAT IS BEYOND THIS WORLD ALONG WITH AN INFINITE AMOUT OF JOY. GOD BLESS YOU & I HOPE KURT WILL GROW TO UNDERSTAND YOU AND LET GO OF THE PAST, AND HE MAY WISH YOU LOVE. - SPINMAN

Wonderful. But how many hours a day can we devote to music? How right is it to give a lot of money? Since none of us are bats, we cannot hear all the sounds. people either listen to music or hi-fi. No matter how much money we spend in our wallet, is it worth buying these systems for the 10% or 20% sound difference? One day we will die and all good things will leave us. No matter what kind of system we have, the important thing is music; Pay attention to how the music makes you feel, not which hi-fi you listen to.

If you put a commercial grade audio system into a massively built room it can hardly be a surprise that you get audio that sounds exactly like a concert hall or theatre. Impressive in terms of seeing something like this in a private property but hardly anything special in technical or engineering terms. The reality is that once you get past the cost of the speaker mechanisms, the rest of the money is spent on creating good looking bits of furniture. Having a hobby that you totally love is great, but the reality is that a couple of thousand dollar system would sound just as good to the vast majority of people. Fascinating to see where obsession can lead when money isn’t a factor.

Sometimes I’m bewildered. All that money could buy years of season passes to hear an orchestra in a major city. Nothing beats hearing a LIVE orchestra in person.
