I agree all the cover versions she has on here are brilliant. Her original stuff is brilliant as well. Plus she is amazing live. Have not seen much live music recently. Sometimes because ticket prices are so high. But would go and see KT again, at the drop of a hat.

If you feel you need to cry from grief, but the tears won't come, just listen to this. Very cathartic.

Cher ist seit Jahren meine Lieblingssaengerin, soooo gut. Würde mir wünschen, dass sie mit Wynonna Judd, die ich auch sehr verehre, ein Duett singt.

I saw it on the old analog T.V. (PBS) I was so impressed by this young artist, I went online and bought her 7" single from Scotland. Never saw her before. I picked a cool early KT poster in NYC at a record store for free when on vacation. Now nothing is free.

This song was such an incredible vehicle for me when I was processing my cancer diagnosis. I still come back to it and listen once in a while. I remember the hope of love being alive be earned the winter snow. I am especially moved at 3:42 seeing Michell Obama’s mother’s tears, and I wonder what this song meant to her.

A favorite song for more than a decade now. Sara and Ingrid are two of the best singer-songwriters the world deserves to know, listen to, and admire with such powerful songs they showcase year after year.

The the single tear running down the cheek of who I can only assume is Michelle Obama’s mother gives hint of the emotions I feel listening to this song. I know the winter I am enduring, I am sure she has her own. We all await and hope that love is alive and will endure.

She used to take it off. Stereotypical stripper trying to pay her way thru college, b/c she didn't like her McDonalds job. Ironic she tried to act like a feminist warrior even though she still worked as a stripper when she started Bikini Kill. Also wanker? Geeze, just stop it little girl from Oregon.

@@dianameneses_ ugh. Back in the day she looked like a 15yr old. I'm sure that helped her stripper career. And now she looks like a grandma w/ candy corn teeth.

Sara Bareilles has a voice found once in a generation. How she emotes the lyrics of a song is otherworldly and transcendent to a level of dare I say perfection ❤

Making Pies / Lyrics Main results It's not far I can walk Down the block to table talk Close my eyes, make the pies all day Plastic a cap on my hair I used to mind now I don't care I used to mind now I don't care 'cause I'm gray Did I show you the picutre of my nephew Taken at his big birthday surprise At my sisters house last Sunday Now it's Monday and I'm making pies I'm making pies, making pies, pies Thursday nights I go to type Down at the church for Father Mike It gets me out and he ain't hard to like at all Jesus stares at me in my chair With his big blue eyes and his honey brown hair And he's looking at me way up there on the wall Did I show you this picture of my sweetheart Taken of us before the war Of the Greek and his Italian girl One Sunday at the shore We tied our ribbons to the fire escape They were taken by the birds Who flew home to the country As the bombs rained on the world Five a.m., here I am Walking the block to table talk You could cry or die or just make pies all day I'm making pies, making pies, making pies, making pies
