does these calipers auto turn off after sometime as idle? I am asking as I dont see mine turn off unless turned off manually using a button.

Do you think the lack of a spindle clamp is problematic?

Hi Joel thanks for your question. You may find a spindle clamp can be useful if you have a specific need for one. However, it doesn't affect the general performance not having one. If you are in need of one you can look at the QuantuMike range.
