@autovag20077 ай бұрын
@autovag20075 ай бұрын

Can you do a 0-50 video of the gauges? I have a 5ek and this thing is terribly weak. Wanna see if it’s normal or how mine compares
@n8bolton Жыл бұрын
I’ll likely never drive this truck again. If you only have it tuned to the factory 425 or so, it probably will feel weak. This truck actually developed a fueling issue and ran dog slow for a while. Had to be in the floor to get anywhere.
@realskata16 Жыл бұрын
@@n8bolton do you know what the issue was? I recently had it tuned to 475, didn’t help at all. Fuel pump went out, installed a brand new one thinking that might solve the power issue. Still dog slow I’m usually to the floor all day long
@n8bolton Жыл бұрын
@@realskata16 I don’t, unfortunately. I ever kept tabs on everything that was replaced on it since I was only driving it on infrequent occasions.

@HammerlaneRookie Жыл бұрын
This is my opinion for anyone learning to drive a big rig. If youre learning to shift, listen to the sound, dont look at the tachometer. I learned to shift in cummins n14 10speed without a working tach. Now 2023 is my first year driving trucks. Im now in an old mack i6 with a 10 speed which has a complete different powerband range and max rpm is like 1800. But it has a working tach and for gears 7-10, for some reason i was watching the tach and i couldnt grab them as well. Finally learned not to look at the tach.

Hey man I’m not sure if you will see my comment but I just pass my CDL test and I’m on the process of working for a small dump truck company so you have any advice for a new drivers getting into the industry?
@n8bolton Жыл бұрын
There are probably a thousand tips and pointers I could give. Dump trucking isn’t a bad way to start. I’ve got LOTS of experience hauling dirt and aggregate. Specifically, in relation to those types of trucks, ALWAYS watch what’s overhead on the dump site and be particular about the ground you’re dumping on. If you’re uncomfortable about the dump site, say so. Don’t lay a truck over because you got carried away and stepped out of your comfort zone. Another thing to keep in mind is that the more specialized and skill-oriented your work is, the more it’s going to pay. After you’ve got multiple years of experience under your belt, start thinking about where you want your career to peak. Hauling cars, over-dimension, livestock and hazardous are all good options. Dump trucks keep you home and in your own bed every night but you probably won’t flood your pockets doing it. Establish what you value most in life and let that dictate what part of the industry you want to settle in.
