Some of these countries & specially Hong Kong now...Self censored in political issues, choice of music & free speech etc. including any shirt or dress with statements which may upset the government. To be safer, one must avoid some topics or must please those governments. Plus big big China makes it clear, their leader wants Taiwan & whole of eastern south sea (key trade routes), including use war if necessary, which mainly effect many near by countries.

List is mostly fine. Hong Kong is a no no for me considering what happened recently. Japan and UAE have very specific cultural/religious norms you need to follow so study up before you go and you'll be fine. Taiwan is difficult. They have a booming semiconductor industry and is a really nice place, but China is drooling to reclaim it. Glad to see China isn't on the list. I was going to go work there at one point, but the place is nuts. Don't go there.

China is a great option! As someone who lived there for 2 years, i can tell you it is the safest country in the world, rivlaing Qatar and Singapore. It's important to mention that China has more economic opportunities than South Korea, Japan and Taiwan, and better wages for professionals.
