You should make a video reacting to "Melkbusschieten Kampen" (milkcan shooting kampen) Kampen is a dutch city where it originates from and we do it in a different way as in the video you watched. The tradition started with farmers who shot the milkcans as a fun thing to do on new years. As it gained popularity the people in the city also started doing it and it got a bit out of control. In the 70's the local government even had to deploy SWAT units and it was like a mini-war. It got so out of control that the people were shooting the metal lids towards the police. Luckily that doesn't happen anymore so now we have good communication with local authorities and are allowed to shoot on 27-30 of December (7pm - 10pm) and the 31st of December (10am - 2am(1st of January))

So this is indeed a Dutch tradition of shooting Carbid during newyears eve, Normally this is done out of a milkcan and they use to lauch the lit away. Because of savety reasons it was not allowed anymore to use the canlit so they swapped to footballs. Carbid is mixed with plain water wich releases a gas, as soon the can is full of gas, they ignite it at a drilled hole in the bottom. The idea is to get the biggest BANG out of it. As you could see in the video ppl like to build their own "canon" wich works the same way as the traditional "melkbus" (milkcan)
