Illegal building techniques are "illegal" because they put stress on the bricks and thus cannot be allowed in official sets. Using illegal techniques can damage the bricks over time so it's actually really important to know which are and aren't legal.

By 'legal', they mean that it's not going to put undue stress on the parts and damage the bricks.

i dont know but i dont think its intended to be like that. there Could be some intention nobody knows about but personally, i think its legal but unintended.
@yournutt3 ай бұрын
no, its actually specifically called out in the original illegal connections document. Specifically, you cant connect more than one stud on the same piece into technic holes because the clutch power is too strong. Also, there's a tiny height difference between the connected piece and the top of the technic brick that makes putting a piece on top of both of them too stressful to the pieces. They recommend only using one stud to connect to a technic hole, and not putting anything on top But of course that's just guidelines for official sets. This is a super common technique and while it may be slightly riskier than a normal technique, i think it's super reasonable to use

Great review, I personally don't use price per piece simply because different parts cost more
@underfundedprojects3 жыл бұрын
That's fair! I just use it to have an average, but in a set with a lot of large or complex pieces, it definitely raises the value.
@jpslegoreviews3 жыл бұрын
I get the average thing but I look at multiple things including minifigs and the size of the completed build to see if the list price is fair

I didn’t know you had to wash Legos!
@underfundedprojects3 жыл бұрын
I hadn't really considered cleaning them until I started building stuff with a mix of old and new pieces. It got to the point where the old "white" pieces looked almost light grey because of the smudging and dust that had accumulated. It might be a good idea if you are buying bricks in bulk from a secondhand seller, or just if you start noticing grime and dirt on them. It's probably a good idea to dust any assembled models every once in a while though. Thanks for the comment!
