I have the same Thornbuckers but uncovered in a strat body. I found them too bright and tending a bit thin. I changed the 500K pots (which I bought specifically because we are always told humbuckers should have 500K pots) with 250K pots. In an amp that sounds good for a classic strat, these pickups are now in about the same general tonal range. It was most weird when a huimbucker guitar sounded brighter thasn a strat! Problem now solved. The mess that is pickup wire color coding was a pain for me too.

@RockGuitarVibes5 күн бұрын
I think it does not matter that much - it's all about the frequency changes/differences.
@jsullivan21125 күн бұрын
@@RockGuitarVibes Pink noise more closely resembles music though. Sure white noise may reflect more frequency changes, but it could be stuff that we don't care about because it's noise, not music, and may never actually be present in a practical application.

After installing this blocking mod, can we add a d-tuna ? Because of the blocked Floyd Rose then instead of retuning the D string we can use the d tuna, right ? Another question, can we still pull up AND pull down the floyd while we blocked it at the back ? Sorry for my poor knowledge, I will get my first floyd rose guitar in few days :’)
@RockGuitarVibes10 күн бұрын
When blocked you can't pull up the trem any longer - that's how it works. However, dive bombs etc. are still possible. Theoretically you can also install a D-tuna - the issue is, that you'll need some additional space for it, especially when the trem is unlocked and you want to hardly pull the trem. Otherwise the extension part of the D-tuna will touch the body and can only be pulled upwards to a certain extent. The problem can be solved by routing out some wood under the D-tuna. Not sure if it's worth the effort...

People shouldn't expect less from you tubers that make clickbait titles like this. Is this a bummer? Very little of a bummer, definitely not worth the title of the video. This is to be expected of even expensive digital pedals and is the reason why serious players get isolated power bricks. Congrats to OP for getting the views and amount of comments his channel needed.
@RockGuitarVibes18 күн бұрын
Well, it's no problem if your power supply has enough slots - however, the used power supply has only 5 outlets, that are all in use. So I'm not able to use the tuner without replacing the power supply - that's not what I would have expected from a modern tuner with many good features. I don't know any other *tuner* which isn't able to be used in a daisy chain setup!

I admire how composed you are in the circumstances, and wish you well with the rebuild. It could have been worse, and now you have the opportunity to make any low level tweaks you may have anyways wanted to implement with your studio infrastructure. For example, have you ever thought of adding CAT cables under the floor and breaking them out into 4 channels of XLR at each end? I really like this method of clean wiring throughout my entire home.

I think the overall impedance curve of these units needs to be taken into account together with input vs output, as you wouldn't see them on a test like this. I wonder if some of them tuned that together with their impedance response to make it hit a certain target together.

I had to send back both of the Ltd I ordered because of qc issues, and was quite bummed as well. Especially since they moved most of the production to Indonesia. These 2, H3 1007B and Arctic Metal 7, were the reasons why I switched to Solar. The guitars are probably made in the same, usual factories anyway, but it seems that Esp doesn't pay enough to guarantee proper quality control compared to other companies. Their Ltd's reaching E2 prices doesn't make it better either. The most shocking part is that you got a Korean model, which are usually good. Guess I'll stick to my 2 Solars. I always wanted Esp as a kid, but fate decided that I shouldn't. After all, I can't just order every model and then send it back if more of the Ltd models are flawed, or Thomann will probably blacklist me lol
@RockGuitarVibesАй бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experience - it's a shame for ESP! Anyway, I've kept the guitar and let a luthier made some mods. And now it's a pretty good guitar - my follow up video is still missing, but it will come at some point.

Aren't all seymour duncan's color coded different than other brands? I always see that when i see wiring schematics for pots. Their green color etc is different than all other brands. (btw good choice on the thornbuckers). I thought both sets sounded great, but the Suhr's sound more classic. I like low output into higher gain boosted with a pedal vs higher output. Both of those sets sound great, the thornbuckers are just more my style, they have that classic more PAF type dynamic.

Hi. Line out, I own a Soldano SLO 30 with a Line out, sound is good into the daw with an IR inside, but i want to know if there is a difference with a load Box, since Load Box receives amplifier signal from speaker outlet. Any Information about it? thanks in advance.
@RockGuitarVibesАй бұрын
The line level is taken from the power amp output which is a good thing - means with your preferred cabinet connected and an IR you'll get the best result at a certain volume level. With a loadbox, the amp can be used in silent mode at any amp volume, but the result will not be necessarily better.
