In the 70s this radio was about $400. In today's dollar that's over $3,000 so this was a top of the line expensive radio in its day and its still highly regarded as a nice addition to any collection

That brings back memories. Took my first car for my first quarter mile pass in '88. Stuey bond went to sleep before I got to the end LOL, and the SLR in the other lane was almost back in the pits. Sunday street meets were like a religion for quite few years. And the trips home... and bloody Mandurah cops pulling over anything remotely interesting on the way there!

Tried talking on UHF CB Radio in Victoria, Australia... too much random garbage talk. Cant even get a word in. Rude people. Miss the days when people were polite and would actually talk interesting things. It almost felt like ham radio years ago. Now they destroyed the airwaves!!! Hope 27mhz is better

@@RT038 Thats awesome, I've just ordered an untested one from USA, fingers crossed its a good unit. Paid $130 all up, postage was about half of that though.
