Why would they just let this lunatic drive off? Obviously he's not in the right frame of mind. Do you think it was a good idea for him to be getting on a scooter and driving off? Is cognitive abilities not all there. Putting somebody else in danger on the road is a good thing? The police did nothing.

Hope he has money. Thai prisons and jails are a human rights disaster. They have gotten better but they still have a long way to go I wouldn't be quick to compare it. Corruption is a huge issue there.

Should have get his nationality and contact the relevant Embassy to send him back to his native country. For his own safety and not being a nuisance to Thailand public. Public members from any country might have a commotion with such behavior.
