My fav part is how this isn’t just a last hurrah for you, but for Ahtal-Ka herself. She’s fighting as one of the last of her kind, as a survivor, as a last stand. We fight for the delicate settlements she’ll trample, for the sake of our friends and family, and, again, as a last stand. The theme represents both. And that’s why it’s my favorite version of Proof of a Hero. Because both sides are trying to prove themselves heroes.

When you're fighting Fatalis and this song hypes you up, making you think you're about to claim victory, then you die. When you win for the first time it feels epic though.

Six months since I first met Fatalis. Six months of constant struggle. I got all the set and weapons but never made it to the very end-until today. Early morning, 7 AM. Almost 12 hours of playing. My best attempt so far? 30%. I do one last try, the very last push. Two lives taken before I reach Phase 3. It might be too late, but I decide that won't stop me. At one point, I use the Dragonator and Ballista combo. Okay, he just fell... what's this music? The theme kicks in. I shut down, and my hands move on their own-perfect Helm Breakers, counters, aggression at max. Fatalis gives me three cones in a row, almost 4K in damage. Both horns are broken now. One minute left. I know I'm close-I just know. But what is this? No, no, no-he's flying! I'm going to fail! My heart pounds like crazy, feels like it's going to explode. My hands are shaking, my breathing ragged. My last option-all or nothing. Clutch Claw him midair. If I'm slow, I'll get knocked over, and that's it. I see the opening, almost in slow motion-Fatalis crashes into the ground. Yes! Yes! I just need one more! My helm is red, but will it be enough? One last combo, and he falls over again. Helm Breaker already in motion-but he's getting back up. Fear grips me-am I going to miss my only chance? But then-the sound of my Helm Breaker slashing his skull. The victory screen appears. I scream like a damn animal, glory tears in my eyes. I'm free. The Black Calamity has been slain. I'm free. I finally beat this game. This song gave me a strong dose of dopamine and encouragement. I might hate the fight, but that last part-the moment this theme plays-is probably the best thing I've ever experienced in gaming

This version of proof of a hero makes me mad... They were rhis close to greatnes, to create the ultimate proof of a hero theme, but they just hard to fumble atrociously at 3:33, one of my, if not my favorite part of proof of a hero has always been that moment at 3:33 where it goes silent for a second, then slowly and quietly gains force once more, then this one drops full force after the brief silence... bummer

MH World was my first monhun game ( i know i'm late to the party). Got instantly hooked and thought how have i never played one of these games before. Did every hunt, side quest, item grind tried to find all the endemic life. Then Iceborne gets announced and then released. Same exact feeling all over again like with world but something was different (a good different). It was amazing. Fighting the new monsters playing through the story and once trying to find all the endemic life and then you finish the Expansion and then this starts playing reminding me what i went through to reach the ending of this game and it's expansion and i just had tears. Listening to this again brings all that back again. Thank you Monster Hunter and CAPCOM for the memories you gave me
